I think what they did in china was interesting-where the cell phone app could tell you if you were in close proximity with someone that was positive. That's very powerful..half the battle (or more) here right now is we have zero clue who is positive and who just has allergies! They're not testing everyone, they're not even testing the majority people that are symptomatic! so without the mass testing we will never know where it is or how far it's gone.
I just heard this morning we have 5 confirmed cases likely from community spread in the small town that we go to for groceries and feed. The grocery store and the feed store are the two big stores in town. And we need to do groceries soon.

i read something a little scary and a little interesting yesterday. This person said we have 3 choices.....1) keep distancing indefinitely until a vaccine is developed (and hopefully works); 2) allow it to rip through society until we get herd immunity; 3) voluntarily inoculate the working population and isolate the at risk people to let the world get back to work. They listed the pros and cons of each choice. what floored me was the glossing over of the FACT that a percentage of perfectly apparently healthy individuals will die in 3. They had this figured out that they would just inoculate with a very small dose so that a minimal number of people would get symptoms. Here is someone that doesn't understand how a virus works!!!! you don't get a less severe disease by being infected by 1000 MOI vs 100000 MOI! (and MOI is multipicity of infectivity btw). Use too small a dose and you don't get infection because of the affinity of the virus for the receptor and the uptake of the bound virus into the cell. There's also a point at which there are too many viruses and only so many can get in. The problem is, no matter what the dose, it only takes 1 virus getting into a cell successfully to precipitate the disease. because that virus highjacks the cell and makes more copies of itself which then get released from the cell to go and infect other cells!!!!! so using a tiny dose to give a non-severe disease JUST DOES NOT HAPPEN THAT WAY!!!!!! This person apparently is willing to sacrifice an entire portion of the population using flawed science. the stupidity floating around is absolutely insane!!!!!!

The other that makes me fear for humanity is: 5G towers are reactivating a virus inside us-that one almost made me cry out of losing hope for humanity. Who ARE these people? HOW has natural selection not naturally selected them yet??! And HOW on earth do they come up with this stuff? I mean, these people have such wonderful imaginations they could make serious money making movies, or writing science fiction novels! and they're wasting their talents by burning down 5G towers in europe????

i'm glad it's sunny out. i need some fresh air to get this crap out of my head LOL.

Seeing Virus came from China guess they should have an “app for that “ . They selling that app over here ? Wonder if the labelling would. Say “MADE IN CHINA “
I pic # 1 Kathy but we’re retired & on very fixed income & not very active anyway . What “snowflakes” have called “privileged seniors”. TC

The other thing that is scary is scientists like the guy from CHEO talking about sterilisation of PPE so it can be reused. Had a team doing google searches and came up empty. This work WAS done but pre internet. Some involved viruses and prions too. It's worrying that so much has been lost.

Hope don’t offend anybody but statement about sterilizing masks KB & reusing brought back a memory from motherinlaw ‘s story in mid 40s war time where rubber would be hard to come by cause rationed for war effort so condoms were flushed & turned inside out on broomstick , left to dry & reused . That’s how they got name of rubbers , I think

After watching Quirks and Quarks, and finding that the 2 meters aren't quite enough,
really glad we adopted the touchless shopping.
Lucky we only like about 5 people ;)
I am limiting my information gathering to leave space in my brain for other stuff, to CBC news at noon, daily Newspaper with my coffee and CTV at night.
French CBC for music, they seem to be better then English CBC funerary music of choice.

Its easy with cell phone tracking. Leave it at home!
...and don't get to participate in society.
Horrible system in China: https://www.techinasia.com/phones-qr-in ... le-beijing

I read up on the apps they develop in EU, based on bluetooth technology. I like those. Google and Apple want to provide something like that, too. Hopefully we get to see the sourcecode before government makes use of it.
It is a horrible system in China because the government is in control, it is Communist. In a Communist society, there is no original thought, no innovation, no competitiveness, and no value for human life. They reverse engineer everything from North America. And Communism has been proven, time and time again, not to work. It did not work in Cuba, Russia, East Germany, and other Eastern European Nations.
Our country needs to get back to its former competitive, innovative, First World Nation society. Our country is headed to where Eastern Europe was.

Very cool, tell DH I am "totally digging it" ;)

It came to my attention that my posts might leave some with impression that I might be the worrying kind, which isn't true at all, I just like to make my own choices and being in age very close to Methuselah I really only care about the future generations, I have already done most of my living.

Of course if the future generations can't manage to sit on their a.r.s.e when asked, not much point worrying about them either ;)

I hear you OC! I got rather pissed when some genius said that ANYONE over 65 should be locked down "for their own good" because they are "beloved seniors" WTF! I am no beloved senior but a crotchety old chicken/turkey lady!
