Ameraucana - Is There An Easy Way To Sex?

Well, I got the sex of this one right. He was dominant and ran over to anything new in the pen from very young. He's definitely a male. He started crowing at 5 1/2 weeks.

This one is a female, I think. It is the only one I hatched from some eggs I bought. They were supposed to be pure Ameraucanas. Has anyone seen striping like she has in her chest feathers before? Do you know if it will go away? It wasn't there when she was small. She is 7 weeks old in the picture.

They're all a little wet. It's pouring here and they don't care! Outside being chicks
Looks like a boy

ameraucanas are the worst to sex early...LOL. easter eggers are much easier, because the boys all get brick red feathers on the shoulders while girls don't.

The bottom pic looks like a pullet to me too. The silver lacing in her breast may go away (but not really) as she gets older, or it may get worse. Either way, she can pass that on to her chicks, so you should not breed her if you're wanting ameraucanas. I've had some spectacularly lovely easter eggers come from blacks carrying silver!
