Imagine seeing a bald eagle take out a turkey! that would be crazy!

I bet! that would have been sooo cool to see though!

2 years ago at the old place while I was doing chores in the barn, all the birds including the guineas went completely silent. wondering what the heck was going on I went outside to see... the birds were staring at the sky so I looked up to see a redtail hawk on a kill dive dirctly AT ME!!! its target was the bird at my feet and that redtail missed me by a few feet! scared the poop right out of me! i got to feel what it is like to be the prey, it blew my friken mind and it took me about an hour to calm down. Crazy!!!

I sure hope you did end up getting a turkey!!! I didnt even come close this year at all.

I was with Heidi at a chicken swap and her neighbour came up to us and told us about a great horned owl swooping down to grab the cat a couple feet from him, he said the cat struggled for about 20 feet then was done. He said the bird was huge, I never knew they would go after cats. I know when I have my birds outside if they see something big fly over they run for cover.

Here's one of my cockerals watching a small bird fly over, if a bigger bird they run. We have lots of geese fly over, boy do they run for cover when that happens.

No luck this spring. I didn't do the fall hunt.

The birds of prey are fun to watch. Lately I have seen Ravens with field mice in their beaks flying by.

Yep other than picking up baby chicks they help keep hawks & field mice populations down legally . Luck
