Good news from Frisco Texas!! All 6 Canadian women wrestlers have qualified for the Olympics! Our Canadian champion at 75 kilo, Erica Wiebe, is from the same wrestling club as my daughter. She grew up in the next town from us and still comes and gives clinics and attends practices when she is home visiting her parents. Andrea can now say she has been thrown around by an Olympian! She was so proud last year when she won the referee's trophy at the Ottawa city championships...given to the wrestler with the best technical skill and sportsmanship...mostly because Erica Wiebe had won it in her high school years. She made sure she took a picture of Erica's name on it while we had it. Proud of our kick ass Canadian girls

Good morning (at 5pm) everyone!
i found the BEST cat toy. a paperclip. go figure.
well, surgeon is very nice. interesting appointment. Lots to think about. Wants another MRI, and will schedule getting steroids injected into the facet joint around the cyst to try and reduce the inflammation, and see how that goes, and if it doesn't work, then laminectomy and fusion. A simple decompression won't work because of all the bone spurs, i guess everything is pretty close to fusing naturally with the degenerative disc disease already. just have to get those nerves freed up and i'm good to go-with a pocket full of painkillers maybe. LOL.
so. on to the next step. New MRI. Then injections. And keep the fingers crossed. so i'm going to have to get busy making some tools. i want to put a little picking uppper basket thingy on the end of a pole for picking up eggs so i don't have to lean over as much to collect eggs. LOL. no time like the present.
hope everyone has a great weekend! hopefully the weather stays good too!

We have all been waiting for your news, I guess it's baby steps, but conservative surgeon is a good sign!
There is an apple picking basket thingy that might do the trick, I have couple from Lee Valley tools, wish you were closer, you could have them to test.

Agree with OC Kathy on the conservative Dr. You have the same back troubles as my Mother, she has been dealing with degenerative discs for years so I feel for you.
I have a pair of these picker uppers and they are great. I think hubby got them at TSC or Canadian Tire.

I'm interested in your treatment Kathy as I also have degenerative disc disease. Mine is at L5. Not fun to live with on the bad days.
