Good Morning!
Am I the only one with a foxes den?? There isn't a man cave in this house. They have a new garage, a tool shed and a shop in another city and a yard for heavy equipment. Go man cave it over there! Pick one. Just stay out of mine. Smelly men!

Good Morning!
Well I have a big share. Exciting share to share. I'm soooooooo excited!
I have a Silkie broody mom!!!
She's been sitting since the 23rd. Feels like FOREVER!!! Surprisingly it isn't one of my porcelains. Obviously bossy boots is too busy being queen to worry about any prince or princesses.
Yesterday bossy pants was stalking her outside the box so I brought her up in the dark last night and she's all set up in a dog crate, secured, her own food and water. That's the other thing. I'm worried she isn't eating. This way at least I'll have a clue as to her intake. Hopefully being on her own she'll be more inclined to come out and drink and eat. she's still on the eggs this morning despite being moved so I'll say she must be pretty serious. She's a pretty sweet girl too. well they all are!
I marked the eggs with a pencil, in case someone squeezed some in while she was still with the flock. It was 5 or 6. I was so excited putting little stars on them that I lost count.
I'm most excited that she'll be raising them. I love the idea of babies being with mom and learning all the stuff moms teach them. Nothing beats a warm cuddle from mom verses a heat lamp.
Well, sure hope I haven't jinxed it. So, porcelain rooster. Black pullets and grey(?) of is it blue (?) and porcelain hens/pullets. Wonder what babies I'll have!
So this is my month of February. A Broody, Burton Cummings and booked my dream trip to Nova Scotia. Nothing wrong with February 2016!!! That's for sure.
Now if the fairy would show up and finish these damn T4's it would be the best month on record.
Have a great day ya'll and be careful - all the water is frozen under the snow. The sun is shinning and +10 over here this weekend. Insanity this fluctuation in temps.
Cheers!!

Good Morning!
Good morning!! Looks cold out. I haven't been outside yet.... but I may as well have gotten up at 6am, when both my son and husband called me on the phone. I heard my phone signalling a text shortly before both those calls. Ugh.
The text was, "No bus today?". The call from hubby. "Can you plug the tractor in when you go out for the bus?". (he went out to plow/salt.... very windy last night, at 3am).... and then son calls, "Did you sleep in today?". I said, "No... but was trying to.", lol. Oh well. I told them both today, that there was a P.D. day for today! A nice long weekend for me.
So, texted Dave back to tell HIM to plug in the tractor, before he went to work. Hes been getting a ride in. A week ago exactly, his 7 year old pick up trucks' transmission was giving troubles. So he managed to drive it to a transmission shop.
4 days later, he gets the truck back, and is told to go to a truck shop (son in law works in one), and have something else done, and have the computer cleared of something or other. So, Dave does that, and the computer came up with the same code as the transmission shop before they worked on his truck to the tune of $3400.
It wasn't driving right a day later, so back to the transmission shop again. In fact.. it was acting like it did, without the $3400 work on it. So, a different guy puts the reader on it. Same. Torque converter and transmission coming apart. So, just WTF did they do to the truck to warrant $$ like that??
Just for the record.. 20 years ago, we took a mini-van there, and it needed transmission work. Cost us $1700. Drove it home, SAME damn thing. Took it back, and half an hour later, it was fixed. So..... how many of these 'transmission' problems are in fact TRANSMISSION problems? Probably not alot. They can say whatever they want, and how would we know any better??
Makes me so mad.
Alright, so I guess I will get dressed and go to the barn, now that I am mad again, lol.
Have a great day!

Good Morning!
Congrats Sandy, don't worry too much about her eating and drinking. They'll just sneak off the nest once a day for a drink and a
. BTW did anyone warn you about broody
? oh the smell! The last week some of mine only hopped off every couple of days.
Just took out hay to the birds, they're happily scratching about in it despite the cold.

Good Morning!
Smell?? I thought it was just bigger. Good thing it's cold. Freezes and keeps the odour in hahahah! I sprinkled some probiotics on her feed this morning and put apple cider vinegar in her water (always do anyways). Should I maybe switch it to vitamin water? Added some fresh herbs to the litter last night.

Good Morning!
good morning everyone!
ARGH BVF! hope they actually get it FIXED this time! so, um, if today is a PD day......why was i stuck behind a school bus this morning? must be some school board didn't have a PD day today....everyone here at work is saying it's a PD day, but i was very definitely behind a school bus, picking up kids, on 2 this morning. stopping at every house...LOL
congrats sandy! mom will get everything she needs, don't worry. they've been hatching eggs for centuries and doing it successfully somehow ;-P
have to admit i'm a softie and will give her a little pile of grit and BOSS right in reach of broody mom's nest as a treat. because i can. yes, glad it's winter and frozen.....broody poos are nasty!
well, driving is CRAZY west of Melbourne. then not so bad east of melbourne towards london. Lots of wind and blowing snow and no plows??! i actually drove through a drift on the major highway that had to be 2 feet deep and 8 feet long! i don't think it had been plowed at all for the entire night. we plowed at home last night, couldn't get into the barn for the wonderful drift that forms in the corner between the barn and coop.
My hubby was telling me that his home town in germany made the news! a drunk cargo boat driver on the river (Main river; the town is Lohr am Main which i probably spelled wrong LOL). somehow missed the river and drove his cargo boat up on land....oooopsie.....
so glad it's friday. the new nerve drugs i got for the back are doing GREAT. finally. but man they are obnoxious on the head. massive headaches...but at least my back and leg aren't screaming 24/7...and i stopped throwing up from the pain, a definite plus i must say. i know, sorry, i'll stop whining now. OC, hows the arm today? did you go for a neon green cast, or pink, or yellow? man, i was so jealous when i found out that they now have casts in different colours. when i was kid i only ever got that off white plaster coloured stuff.
hope everyone has a safe, happy, fun friday!!!!!

Good Morning!
Shirly..... what was the total bill on that? is it a gm? 1500- 4L60E? or 2500 4l80e? was there 8 or 9 codes with that torque converter clutch silinoid being one? was it getting stuck in 3rd without the speedometer or the light to tell you what gear your in? if so it was loosing lower... the pink wire that runs to the round plug is the power for the tranny.... could be as simple as the plug coming loose or a broken wire.
I spent $3000 to have my tranny in my truck professionally rebuilt heavy duty, and that included a tow of about 60 kms on a flat bed... didnt turn a wrench and I couldnt be happier. this was at transmission direct in strathroy... they have been building race trannys since the 60's. mom n pop shop these guys are amazing.
I feel like he got ripped right off and what exactly did they do?
heres a webpage with 30 common 4L60E tranny problems.
