Chickens do just fine, in fact many would say better, if they get meat in their diet. It does not have to be a lot. The issue with feeding poultry back to poultry is of course the possibility of disease transmission- feeding cooked meat is just fine too, better than none. Insect protein is probably even better for them, some people raise maggots, mealworms or black soldier fly larvae for their chickens.Scotty wrote:QR_BBPOST Hi just read your post sorry to hear about hen/rooster issues.I am new to poultry world , but àre raw organs , chicken carcass and bone maŕrow healthy and or safe for birds diet and digestive system?

Being Plucked Bare **HELP NEEDED**
Well, she's been kicked out of the Silkie pen. She was jumping on the Roo this morning when I went out again. So she's out! Actually right now she's in a nesting box in the big coop (big girl coop).
I put her with the barred rocks and EE's. They showed her in the first 2 minutes who was boss. Lots of running and screeching, but no blood and no one is hurt. She paced the Silkie pen wanting in for the first hour but gave up after I relocated her each time she went over there. I've shown her multiple times where the feed and water are and saw her at shortly after so she's good there.
I'll be forcing her to sleep in the big coop with the rocks etc. My Silkie Roo needs a break from her shenanigans. Maybe she'll drop the attitude and make a friend or two. Who knows. If she can't, she'll need a new home. *sigh*

Not sure if anyone has mentioned these to you before.......chicken peepers. See youtube video. I know a friend of mine had to put them on her Maran rooster to stop him from attacking her but also works for feather pluckers!!!
