Hello

Post by Superman » Tue Sep 16, 2025 8:09 am

Hello everyone! I'm Corey and my significant other's name is Lynne. We have a little 50 acre hobby farm just outside Coldwater. Usually we have anywhere between 30-40 chickens all layers, currently also 3 roosters and 2 male runner ducks. I grew up working a farm, dairy, beef and crop, she's had chickens for most of her life. We'll likely get up to the 100 limit by next summer, lol, just need to build another coop first. Our flock is of varied breeds, so we get the easter basket of colours. Also a lot of Black Australorps and Rhode Island Reds. Lynne's hatched some interesting crosses this summer that we're excited to see fully grown, mainly the ones sired by our Mille Fleur rooster, Ricky. We're looking at growing income from the farm so searching for the rules on processing/selling is what led me to this site. Glad to be here!

Hi Corey, A breeder near our house used to and his kids still might hatch an incubator the size of a fridge full of eggs. He would sell the chickens at local markets so you should be able to do this too. Link to an article below. I'm sure someone in this forum knows the answers to all your questions. I LOVE Millies they are soooo sweet and beautiful. I had one that always wanted to go for a ride on my head or shoulders.
