Surprise

Post by Killerbunny » Sun Sep 08, 2024 6:30 pm

Went out and found the hazelnuts were ready. Loads more on the ground from the wind.

A clue was squirrels carrying off butternuts and I still want to know how they open them!

Otis scared a squirrel on our driveway and she dropped her walnut. When we returned the walnut waa gone. I could hear two squirrels talking. One was at a tree right near us and one was about 100 feet away. My guess is the conversation went like this: Our Squirrel...DON'T EVEN THINK OF GOING NEAR THAT WALNUT! Other Squirrel: Finders keepers losers weepers...Our Squirrel...You wanna get hurt? Head over this way to MY giant walnut tree. Other Squirrel: I have my own tree! Good bye! [Insert angry sound]

On the surprise theme...I was surprised to see a Chaiiwala store and had to drop in for a Pink (Kashmiri) Chai and gulab jamun cheesecake. Next time I will try Karak Chai :yippiechickie:

OK everyone. I think at this point shelling hazelnuts is overrated as a pastime! They will be good though. Variable results due to the weather but many really large ones.
