No rain here at all. It just keeps passing us by :(.

Yesterday, it was so hot that I took four washing-up bowls out to the chickens, put a couple of inches of water in each one and put them in their run. I picked up each chicken and put her in a bowl to paddle, but they all jumped out immediately, and preferred to drink the water. I had put a giant ice cube in their drinking water..... At least they enjoyed a bowl of last year's frozen tomatoes. Popsicles for chickens!

It was hot here too, before the rain started at around 2. The chickens and quail both enjoyed some cool "enjoy tonight/priced for quick sale" cantaloupe and sliced cucumbers. Unfortunately our little blind quail couple in the garage haven't figured out what cucumber and melon is yet, but we'll keep introducing it in the same bowl and spot, and hopefully they'll clue in soon.

Sliced cukes and melon too! You're not spoiling them are you? Mine get a small cuke cut into four lengths. I have to be careful that the new dog doesn't steal them through the fence!

@labradors , "new dog" needs his own cucumber. ;-)
Another 2.2" in the rain gauge this morning. I'm surprised that you haven't seen any rain, @Killerbunny and @Ontario Chick . Still none for you?

Here in Kingston we were supposed to get lots the past 2 days but have only had a few drops. Watching the radar and it all went right around us!
