Re: Good Morning
Hope he heals up! I had a hen that couldn't use one of her legs-the rooster was too rough. So i got her on pain meds and threw her (placed her gently) in with the youngsters. She's eating the chick starter and all the little ones fight over the "next to the big hen" spots in the evening. She seems really content, and today was actually walking around (limping a bit) putting both feet on the ground. Nice to see her doing better. Hope your little boy pulls through well.
We managed to avoid all the nasty weather tonight and just had a tiny bit of rain-we could definitely use more rain! But i'm happy to skip the downdrafts and tornadoes. Curious to hear if it was a downburst, microburst or small tornado near wyoming tonight. Sure did some damage on a farm-barn roof flipped off a barn and stuff. Here's hoping that tomorrow is not a more harsh repeat....the weather reports certainly sound scary.

Re: Good Morning
Finally good watering for the garden, everybody happy including the mosquitoes.
There must have been a deer party last night, forgot to turn on the "scare crows" sprinklers and row of day Lilly buds were eaten, I am starting to forget what the colours were, and all the heads of Jerusalem artichokes are off, not one left, and one giant hosta plant every leaf off, it looks like a very large green hedge hog

The deer got one of my hosta, too, and ate the flower buds. They already got some of the leaves. I forgot to spay with Bobbex the other night, and I don't want to spray when it's about to rain. A previous day, they ate the bud off a sedum that I haven't seen bloom yet. Darn deer!

Re: Good Morning
Hello everyone happy summer!
Been a while since I’ve been on here
!
Hope everyone is well. Kathy, I have a new number I’ll send it to you in a PM.
Anyone have any flu around them? If so where are you located?
Not avian flu related.. I had a few birds die on me but I think they were just really stupid (these birds are from a neighbour and used to the cool barn) and stayed in the coop all day during one of our record breaking heat wave days here in the Florida of Ontario. Darwin… I’m ok with it.
Found some worms in my wellsummers
, going to worm the flock. I have two silkies though, thinking I’ll give them a smaller amount than the standards.
My oldest wants to start breeding silkies, but the hawks keep killing them :-( Fashioned some chicken tunnels between the garden rows and now my garden is thriving with all the pest control and
. Looking for a good rooster though, all we have now is a naked neck hen.
Glad to see some familiar names on here still.
