Farrier1987. South of Chatham on Lake Erie. Chickens, goats, horse, garden, dog, cat. Worked all over the world. Know a little bit about a lot of things. No incubator, broody hens.

SO I investigated further and found an owl pellet under the nestbox. Here are the results.
There was lots of grey vole fur and a complete upper skull with eye sockets and I found both sides of the lower mandible with teeth. I am excited DH not so much. Hope the little guy stays and doesn't get evicted by starlings.

I did at one point in my career spend far too much time looking for parasites in hare droppings. I think I have an abstract of the paper if anyone is interested........
BTW owl pellets aren't unpleasant they are just regurgitated undigested parts. Now I come to think of it that doesn't sound so good.
