Herself got back from her mothers yesterday, good to have her back. About 6 eggs a day. Frozen today and should stay for a few days the forecast says. Good to have it not so mucky. Goats and horse can be out on the grass without cutting it up. Had about an hour snow streamer blizzard yesterday, nothing serious,

Going to transplant some volunteer blackberries from the garden out into the lilac windbreak, let them go sort of wild there. Lots of growth and they have pretty flowers and will fill in some space and make fruit. Doing the same with some Rose of Sharon. Lilacs are fine, but some other times flowering stuff should be good too. Probably some of my raspberries too.

Anyway, another day. Hope all is swell with everyone.

That wind yesterday was absolutely brutal! and this morning was so cold. i must be getting old. at least we didn't have any snow stay on the ground, but i drove through the most bizarre squall yesterday. windy then white out, then raining so hard i couldn't see the road, then 10 seconds later snowing again, then ice pellets then sunny and 10 degrees colder! all in about 2 minutes. go figure. listened to the wind howling until about midnight. All the critters safe and warm in the barn. of course the heated buckets (or should i say "not so heated buckets") are needing replacing AGAIN this year...go figure. We got down to 5 ducks and they are impeccable with their water! when they can bathe in it, it actually is quite sane! LOL. i did put their pool away. and loaded in some nice hay (spilled and rejected by miss priss (molly)). they loved snuggling into it
Hoping for less wind.....
don't mind the no snow thing.

It's funny, I never minded the winter until we had birds. I really notice it now and feel for them!

I too felt sorry for the chickens but I never about the sheep, they always looked so cozy in their wooly coats and wished I was as warm as they were when out on the cabless tractor moving their big bales in a blizzard!

Overcast and windy and not above freezing, no mud around. Have to go get grain one of these days, WLL and Martin, beware. Three eggs today, have been getting 6 or 7 most days. Not much new really, but I thought I should let everyone know.

Ventured out early today, forgot about the school buses, very messy driving......
...but giant new Farmboy, yet another source of sushi, after a 2year hiatus, embarrassment of riches.
Our "egg people" have a full cooler, so either their chickens are laying like mad, or we are the only people buying from them :)

the cow would have blown away here today......this is INSANE wind. horrifying news from south of us - kentucky and tennessee....seems tornado alley is moving east and earlier and later in the year. I hope everyone stays safe. Our temp just started to go down (was 20C)...it just dropped to 12C in less than a minute. hopefully this system gets out and the wind quits soon. Not a fan of this weather. Glad we didn't open any doors into the barn to let birds out today-the wind was bad enough the dog was stumbling in the gusts earlier. the birds would be pinned to the barn wall unable to go anywhere!
i hope everyone has everything nailed down, and everyone stays safe and warm!
