We have some that seem to run in the area and in January there was a female near us. Thought it was s turkey at first and then looked closer.

Is it wrong to think of going back to padded pants. I already got caught out when DH was folding washing and noticed I was still wearing a thermal top!

:)
It is way more wrong, scoffing at the idea of wearing headband and gloves for doggy walk and then freezing your posterior for the whole 45min walk!!!

Here in Kingston they’re predicting it’ll be a low of 3C tonight with a risk of frost! Now everything is planted I’ll just have to hope it doesn’t happen!
And yes, I too have dug out the warm clothes again!

Yesterday was a big day for my May 5th Hatched poults. They have been out on grass and Mumsy and her kids (13th MAy) were getting increasingly upset about the "jailed" poults. Opened the gate and watched. All one big family now and she is much happier! This is the second year she's done this.

Last night was the third night in a row that I had to cover our raised beds with plastic, sheets or tarps because of frost warnings. Everything survived. Phew! Looks like I can finally plant out my sweet potato slips today.

I don't have anything planted for a garden yet. Since the beginning of May we have had heat as high as 30, cold as low as -10, and all sorts of temperatures in between. Now this week we will have 3 or 4 days above 30 with one as high as 36. I don't think any of the plants or trees are growing normally.

I saw a wild turkey with at least 2 really young baby chicks (about 4 inches tall) may have been more but the grass was tall and they were running away from me. Mom looked like she was 4 feet tall! I opened the side door and I don't know who was more shocked, me, Otis (our Lab), mother turkey, baby chick 1 or baby chick 2 :-o
