I have some of the 2 colour ones left, not good for eating anymore and I am not planting, so if you are in the neighborhood after the "stay at home" I will put your name on the basket :)

went down to count them, there is about 2 doz, not sure if that helps in your "large scale" operation

Will let you know if we are near but we don't get out much! There will be no large scale anymore (I think).

There are 2 plants that I can grow successfully...tomatoes and Chinese shallots (similar to the taste of the Wild Garlic leaves in the Eastern Townships). Carrots have huge leaves and itty bitty carrots, peppers don't grow peppers, corn is eaten by raccoons or earwigs, cucumbers seems to get melted by some plant killing monster, beans don't do that well either...I have a NOT green thumb...but animals I can keep alive!

It was a bit of an adventure but i found out what the Chinese grass like mild garlic tasting plants are...Garlic chives or Chinese chives, Allium tuberosum, are a close relative of ordinary chives, and are just as easily grown by the same cultivation methods. But the normal mild onion flavour is replaced by a pleasantly sweet garlic flavour, especially when the leaves are young, and regular harvest will ensure this....https://www.gardenersworld.com/plants/allium-tuberosum/

I also forgot to mention that the rabbits eat the lettuce and they are so cute it's ok with me

You are all way ahead of us. We got a dump of wet snow the last few days, which was badly needed. The high for today is only 4 degrees. I bought two plastic water troughs to use as vegetable planters. They are tall enough to keep the gophers out, and I hope the mice can't climb them. I think I'll put them in the dog yard to keep the rabbits, and hopefully the deer away. I have planted a few tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon and a few perennial seeds in the house. I am modifying one of the sheds so I can use it as a sort of greenhouse for transitioning them to outside. Some of my perennials outside were starting to grow before the snow. It had been warm for a few weeks.

I just went out to plant some sunflower seeds and although it's raining, turns out the soil is only damp on surface, rest of it bone dry.

I thought I would give parsnips one more try since we love them roasted and I might have fallen for @TomK suggestion they can be grown successfully and now I can't find his instructions how to do it !!!
Help !!!!

AARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! i just went out to check on the greenhouse plants and a mouse had dug up and eaten all the sunflowers, profusion, peppers and california poppies! i found the culprit, in a nest underneath one of the floor tiles....i caught it and all the 10 babies and threw them up in the woods way far away from the greenhouse. then replanted and covered the seed trays. sigh. not impressed!!!!
