@Shnookie On April 7th the European Medicines Agency (EMA) is expected to issue new guidance regarding the AZ vaccine. This will be before your scheduled shot. You can decide after reading about their findings.

Good morning,
Nice and sunny here, first peeper couple days ago, promptly followed by first disgusting fat tick on the kitchen floor.
Visit to the vet scheduled for tomorrow, hope that is still happening, definitely time for NexGard

also large flocks of cyclists yesterday, thru sign of spring....

Fingers starting to itch for seed planting, although I know it's too soon for this household, will try to grow them out in the barn in May, see if I can avoid the in and out plant movement ;)

Hi all, i guess it's still morning-just barely. Loving the weather....finally decided to put the all seasons back on the truck. looks like i'll need new tires soon. hm. maybe i can get through this summer with them i hope! Got the first set of seed out into the flats in the greenhouse. have another set to start on this coming weekend. i am NOT starting the squash until literally 2 weeks before planting. i do not need 14 foot vines in the greenhouse again this year! The last garden chore for me is raking out the asparagus patch and putting some manure on it....maybe tonight. maybe not. it's been super nice to have a couple of little bonfires lately too! and no mosquitos (yet). although the ticks are very much getting up and out. sigh. the idiot squad (guineas-11, 12, 13, 14 or 15 depending on the day) are now ranging as far as the road from my house...that's a good 1/2 km. if they ran away i wouldn't be sad i must admit. they're so bloody noisy. but somehow they always seem to come back to the barn at night. on a good note, if they eat all the ticks in the woods then maybe 1) the dog won't bring them home, 2) we won't pick them up in the woods, and 3) less bug spray for turkey hunting....although we have seen virtually no turkeys. lots of deer, but no turkeys this year. tons of coyotes though. and foxes. which still amazes me that the guineas come home at night. have 2 ducks sitting and 1 laying up a storm. i don't know where the 1 is sitting, and i think it's been about 3 weeks, so maybe next weekend there might be fuzzies running around. the hen that sat hatched two chicks, and they're both boys. of course. getting their combs already at the grand old age of 3 weeks. they both look like decent gold welbars though, so maybe i'll replace my older boy this year. I've decided i'm going to continue with my silver and gold welbar lines, and the rest will be slowly culled out or not replaced. My back is bad again-and will need surgery (i've seen the imaging....lol....surgeon appointment coming up, not fast enough, but coming) and i need to get rid of a lot of the work. plus i'm getting tired of the landscaping they do-moving my mulch everywhere and eating the plants. so i need to get them penned. this year....lol. sometime.

Second day in the row woken up by wild turkeys having a prolonged conversation, possibly amorous attempts, interspersed by owl talking nonstop.....seriously somebody is waking up too early or somebody is staying up too late / ;)
Planning an al fresco lunch today, possibly earliest ever !!!!
Garlic up, but the garden looks too dry, can't believe I am actually looking forward to some rain :)

argh, just argh. spend a night in emerg this week....amazing what happens when your body doesn't listen to you any more! They first thought cauda equina but since i've had laminectomies that really can't happen.....but it appears that i have a csf leak somewhere, and a huge pseudomeningocele (or something). so i'm now waiting on the surgeon appointment having had 2 more MRIs and a bunch of xrays and on and on and on. They did test for ALS, MS, AS and PLS and the good news is it's not any of those, it's definitely surgery related....just waiting on getting my imaging from the hospital to take a look at it myself since i have way more time on my hands than they do. luckily i have next week off. I'm hoping to get the asparagus bed cleaned up and then get the pH tested in the garden and potentially do the lime and potash thing, but have discovered the walking is way more of a challenge than it used to be. hm. The lime went on the field yesterday....amazing they were done in an hour or so to do 112 acres! that was a MONSTER spreader! lol. my daffodils are in full bloom and crocuses too! soon the tulips will be up and blooming, the buds are there, just not opening yet. and the buds are swelling fast on the fruit trees. my one muscovy is in her final week of incubation sitting on 10 eggs or so. i can see some of the eggs have the look of a black duckling inside, so it's getting close! the hen that hatched the 2 chicks have turned them loose and they're following the rooster around learning everything he does. he actually looks like he's enjoying having 2 pint sized side kicks! the grass is green-definitely looking like spring now!

What @ross said!
My "favourite" turkey girl looks like she's gone down for the count. Has to be an improvement on last weekend I hope when I lost poor Kim to what looked like an aneurysm of some type. She had a good run though, 8 years. Her lovely wing feathers are going to someone to make dreamcatchers, very nice I think.
Get those pictures coming in folks, spring is here.

@WLLady Good luck, sounds like you should be taking it easy not worrying about the garden.
