my dad was always proud of the fact that we have not one, but two, vikings of notorious fame in our family tree. hm. i never really understood why that was a good thing, but....?

and @baronrenfrew YES, covid has removed my fuse....for sure! and those of many people that i know, work with, talk to.....we are all stressed even without realizing we are! no worries....lol.
I do also believe that it's cold enough that some of the critters we all love to hate should be dead by now. come on spring!!!! I saw -26C on the temperature in my truck this morning on the way to work. i don't like seeing that. at least the sun is shining (i think because it's too cold for the clouds to stay in the sky!)

So - with covid and lockdowns - is it just me or does everyone have a short fuse? I know I am not as patient or as tolerant as I should be.
Absolutely agree !!!
After listening to somebody expand on the theory that "In these hard times we should be kinder to each other" , I examined my own behavior, and accept for the part where I try to speak clearly and wish a good day to the poor soul manning / womaning ?the front door of the Farm Boy store and the cashier, I would like EVERyBODY else to stay as far away from me as possible and not really feeling generous or kind in any way when they get too close. ;)

They said the polar vortex is gone, but it is still -25 with a wind chill of -30. The sun is out. The forecast for this weekend is for temperatures above 0, but if it stays windy it won't feel like it. There was a little snow this week.

Two vehicles were stolen in my vicinity this week. Criminals come out from the city to commit crimes - break ins, thefts, etc. apparently even when it's really cold. RCMP caught one of the crooks and found one of the vehicles.

My insurance company charges an extra $250.00 per year on their home policy if you have a wood burning stove or fireplace. Is it like that in Ontario?

@Shnookie yes there is a surcharge here. It's the reason we don't have one when we checked it out.
I have no fuse anymore especially with the TV media stirring up fear. That goes for ignorant medics (experts) spouting off too. Interestingly most folks here are pleasnat when you go shopping etc. maybe it's rural. Heads up too shortage of red wine! I stocked up yesterday. Frankly I have never liked people close to me.

So I have some of my silkies in the house over this cold spell as they decided to do a moult and are just about nude. They are so funny though just standing there until I talk to them and ask them how they are then they quietly start nattering away. Almost like they are telling me all about their day.
