Killerbunny, you shouldn't have told me about Manolls being open. I can see a little trip to B'ville in our future for a delicious (and much-needed) lunch :) :) :).

We have an acc with our Co-op so we go & back up to where feed is stay in vehicle tell um what yu want , they load it & away yu go . So far so good .
Our local feed mill is taking orders at the door, writing out what we want, taking payment, and delivering to the vehicle (as usual). So no one is allowed to enter the building.
@KimChick ..I am assuming you are referring to Bakers in Forfar...awesome business..highly recommend them to all I meet... :run:

@labradors phone ahead 613-342-7448 11 Buell Street. A large order (2 piece fish with chips) is more than enough for 2.
Happy to enable! You won't be able to get out of the vehicle on Blockhouse though, the river and parks are completely closed down ATM.

Thanks KB. That was exactly what I needed to know (2 pcs w/chips). Bummer that the Blockhouse area is closed though. (They have closed some of the parks here in Kingston too we hear). We'll have to leave the pooches at home and find somewhere else picturesque to sit in the car and enjoy our F&C.

I just found out they've closed the MacJohnson too. I am pissed by this because the few people that were going there were way more than 6ft apart. We've been seeing maybe 4 people all away off. I know it's politically incorrect to say that but whatever!

The few are spoiling things for the many because they refuse to keep their distance. It's NUTS! They closed our 8 acre dog park which never has many people at the best of times, and people naturally keep their distance in any case. We are lucky, as we have a large fenced-in garden for our two to roam, and we walk them on our rural street to get our exercise. All our neighbours are out walking too, and we've met some new dogless ones recently (at a distance, of course).

I am seeing a lot of similarities between SARS 2.0 and avian Infectious Bronchitis, which is also a Coronavirus. I sincerely hope I'm just a crazy chicken lady, and seeing correlations where none exist...not because I think they're the same thing (they are NOT) but if the novel coronavirus behaves in any way similar (and so far, it IS) then there will be damage beyond the initial infection. IB is persistent. It can be reactivated during times of physical or emotional stress. As if potential repeated bouts of pneumonia aren't bad enough, IB does not stay limited to the respiratory system, and indeed often the only way to know that a chicken is a carrier is when they develop reproductive or kidney disease.

So i think chickens have a very different way of dealing with invaders of the virus kind. Their antibodies are exclusively IgY subtype. (like IgG in mammals). however, the IgY doesn't have a Fc region, so it cannot activate the complement system. mammal antibodies have an Fc region that can bind to and activate complement. So, in that sense mammals have the ability to activate complement immediately on reinfection (or reemergence) of a virus as long as there are antibodies present. So if it does shed again in a person then the immune system should take care if it. IF the virus can reservoir somewhere in a mammals body. Chickens would have to deal with the virus in some other way because they don't have complement activating ability to nuke it once it reemerges and might have to go into antibody production again to make enough to bind to the reemerging antigens.........just my thoughts....
