Re: Good Morning!
Good morning,
First Robin yesterday, so spring must be here, right?
I am starting to sound a bit desperate, went in to the garden yesterday, since DH purchased cilantro instead of parsley, I thought maybe there may be some in the garden or at leas some chives, but the whole thing is still under snow so will have to wait a bit I guess.
With Ottawa now considered "high risk" this is going to be very odd spring.

Re: Good Morning!
it's positively loud at my place in the morning now with all the tweety birds being back! our killdeer arrived yesterday! and robins everywhere. and yes! it was a bluebird!!!!! yay! our deer still have antlers. go figure.
ducks are laying up a storm, as are the turkeys. guess this year it's not avian flu to worry about but people flu....started collecting for hatching. won't hatch too many this year, just enough to keep the lines going. have to do some spring cleaning. if covid doesn't give me a cough, the shovelling out the coops will! Tons of meetings today to figure out the rest of the school year, and then sent home from the university by my boss who is in quarantine himself right now having been travelling.
we'll see what the college settles on....
may we all live in interesting days....lol
cake sounds good. maybe i'll make one tonight too. just because.

Re: Good Morning!
Bit of rain, bit of sun. Heard on the radio this am that its the Venereal Aquanaughts Day today. Have to look that up to see what it is for sure. Peachy still setting her bunch. Sold the first eggs from my kijiji ad yesterday. $45 for 3 dozen. The girls do raise cash to pay for their feed. Two cases of Covid in Chatham, Still dont know if they are going to let the Jamaicans come in to work the orchard or not. They more or less self isolate after they get here anyway. Owner had ten scheduled for today, they wont be coming today and he is waiting on final word.
Be safe everyone.
Be safe everyone.

Re: Good Morning!
They said they were loosening the regulations for migrant workers for the agriculture industry today.....so they should be able to come hopefully soon!
we had cranes flying over yesterday. and a ton of rain. it's all muck again here! waited about 2 hours too late to move hay for the horses and did that in the pouring rain.
caught one of the rats in the barn. one more to go! (that we know of) they're the cute field rats, not the big ugly norway rats thankfully. ticks are out and about, seen 2 now, picked up by the cats and dropped off ceremoniously on the wall above their food dish. 2 guineas buggered off and never came back....and the third is about to meet its maker at the end of a 20g if it doesn't stop harassing the chickens. my muscovies did have to tell them off, so at least they're leaving the ducks along. the guinea hen isn't the problem, it's the one male....i'm starting to think that pearl grey guineas are jerks and it's related to colour because the 2 buff ones i have aren't that bad. We shall see how it goes today.....

Re: Good Morning!
We started to have the main problems when the female went broody. I guess he was just doing his job and he was always very protective of her but when he started upsetting my Toms I couldn't put up with it.
