@WLLady Best wishes for Monday.

Ya we have one patch of milkweed on our property right now that I leave for the Monarchs, last year was our best year for monarchs since we moved here. Unfortunately the milkweed patch is in a spot I want to put a new raised veggie garden bed, so I am hoping to plant some milkweed in a few other spots and then eventually remove the one patch we have.

Start of another lonely week. St. Catherine is still out west taking care of my mom, recovering reasonably well from mastectomy a week ago.

Mom is 90. Her husband is 91, and just had carpal tunnel surgery end of Nov, is half crippled, walks with a stick. Cath had got a bath chair so they could sit in the tub chair and shower if necessary. But yesterday he was going to have a bath. Like, get immersed. One handed and feeble. Hardheaded old coot Dutchman. Mom didn't think he should, he would get in trouble. Cath stayed out of it, but he and mom got into a nose to nose. He was going to. She said don't. He was going to.

So, I guess he was shaving and mom went in to talk to him. Told him, go ahead, have a bath, but if you get in trouble, I am calling 911 and an ambulance. He said, Not just call the neighbors? They would help? Mom said No, 911, end of discussion, you decide. And I guess he decided not. I hated it when I was a kid and she made you make your own decisions just like that.

Cath is a retired nurse. I asked couldn't she have helped? She has seen naked old men before. (No, I don't mean me, we turn the lights out and I am not that old.) She thought she might just wait til the bubbles quit coming before she decided to help.

Good women are hard to find. I feel lucky to have had at least two in my life. My mother, and I hope Cath doesn't find out about the other one.

I do miss her while she is gone. I thought she cleaned the cat boxes before she left, but I guess not, They are a real mess, and its still a couple weeks til she gets back.

Anyway, good Monday morning to all, and thoughts go to WLL and Martin for her procedure today. (She's the other woman, but I am not sure she knows yet. She will be so thrilled.)

Hi everyone, sorry, you are stuck with me for a while yet! lol scary thing having someone poking around in my heart....and i can tell you the absolutely worst part of it was being flat on my back for 4.5 hours and then trying to stand up afterwards with the back fusion. the rest is easy peasy! i'm pleasantly surprised. and i feel better this morning than I have for about a year. amazing.

hm. the "other woman" huh? Well, I do aid and abet the chicken mania over there, not to mention failing to be home when you drop in....not sure i would settle for that relationship honestly. lol. and Cathy is a sweetheart. I hope she's having a good trip out west.

snowing like mad out here today. at least that makes it brighter outside, that cold and dark and rainy yesterday was not fun!
So alas, and i know i'm not good at this, i'm not allowed to do any heavy lifting for a week or so. or any swimming or stuff like that. when i asked what the surgeon meant by "heavy" he asked what do i think and i said "50 pound feed bags for the chickens" and he said "um, more like a full laundry basket". OH. (i resisted asking if that's dry or wet laundry, didn't want to push my luck before surgery) okay. so I guess i'm off laundry duty for a few days LOL. and vacuuming...and shovelling....and well, guess it's time to do the PTO calendar and the christmas cards.

I'm hoping to get to the sarnia show next weekend if it's not a raging blizzard and say hi to everyone that's there. Not showing but i love looking at the birds. @thegawd will you and Lizzie and the gang be there this year?

Glad it helped, say Hi if you see me at the show. Going with my sister as my husband will have just had surgery and will have to take it easy for a bit.
