congrats @TomK!
Good job @poultry_admin ha ha. took me a minute and a reload to figure out just WHERE to click....lol

so mother nature had it one day off. LOL. hopefully it will all melt this week and we can get back to booting spring 101....please wait....

my leftover dregs from the old mealworms were sent out to the coop yesterday, and WOW did the girls ever love them! i now have 3 boxes of beetles going strong and the first worms from the eggs from the first set of beetles! yay! a whole lot easier than i thought it would be....although they go through more carrot slices than i thought they would. neat anyways. another set of eggs for a friend put in on sunday. and of course saturday night our power was out for some reason...gah! so who knows if my turkeys will hatch next week or not. i need to candle again i guess. they were okay as of 8 days ago....but down to 2 eggs a week. i think they gave up after laying all winter. sigh. how these things have not bred themselves out of existence is beyond me!!!!

have a great one everyone. @baronrenfrew i would not blame you if you decided to hibernate. i only have 3 inches here and i want to hibernate. for another month.

Aye - I called Canadian tire on Thursday to book time for an oil change. guy said really busy - tire season.
tire season? we can get snow anytime in April - plows are put away - salt washed off the roads - my snow tires stay on another month!

:wee:
Cilla, our Brabanter pullet, laid her first egg today!
A real, albeit small, white egg with a good solid shell. Picture shows comparison with a medium Biscuit egg and a large Deanie egg.

It really is ... and if you have a small flock like we do, it makes it really easy to know who laid. ;)

Picked up 3 RTL Red Sexlinks from TSC this morning (along with 9 for my neighbor). Our timing was purrfect as the Frey's vehicle arrived just as we did :).

Good morning,
Fabulous day yesterday, finally made it out in to the barn, my lovely 5+5 pullets are shaping up very nicely, there are at least 2 that look like "real" Wyandottes, :) can't wait to get them out of the barn to take some pictures.
"Jewel" is living up to his name in a pretty spectacular way, with his original Black color turning in to all the colours of the rainbow and then some :)
Wish I hadn't looked out the window, there is some white stuff flying about.
Have a sunny one!
