Wow.... so terribly sad to read all of this, I'm pulling for Mouse to pull through this. I also feel bad for that dog.... the people that dumped him need to burn in hell

Oh Gill, I am so sorry to hear that, I know that heart break so well.
I hope Mouse will recover, what a shame I know how much you care for your animals, glad you got your turkeys well tucked in.
I have some of Lucky's daughters if you need.

This was the time I'm really glad Lucky had the sense to wuss out! I carried him home shaking and whimpering from a field over where some of the unhurt hens were. Mouse still alive this am.

I hate when stuff like this happens. I maintain that most animal problems are not animal problems, they are people problems. The Husky was just being a dog, that some irresponsible person could not bear to deal with (Because they were so soft hearted probably) He killed your birds, was confused by his owner just dumping him in a new situation, and he did what a dog does. Now he is gone, and rightly so, and your hens that you cared about are gone, others hurt. It sucks all around. And I am guessing its a city folk that dropped him off. "Some farmer will take him in and he will have a good life." I despise people like that. Similar to live trapping a coon and dropping him 20 miles away. Let him get someone elses chickens, or someone else can shoot him. Confused, in a new area where he doesn't know the territory and has to fight for a spot, maybe getting killed, maybe killing another, trying to find food in a strange area. People problems, not animal problems. Makes me just so irrigated. People problems, not the animals.

Good luck with things, hope the remaining ones recover ok.
