This pm sucks!

Went to Home Hardware and back gone 20 minutes at most, came home to a bloodbath. :sSig_censored: husky attacking my hens and little piles of birds all over. Final tally 7 dead including Nearly, PJ, Missie and Big Bird who I had to cull poor girl. 4 scratched up and shaky we'll see what tomorrow brings. Lucky kind of OK but shaky when we found him. Thank goodness the turkeys were penned and inaccessible because the tracks were all round that paddock. It had gone right into the coops.
AT least the dog won't be a problem any more.

Oh no, KB!!! That's just tragic! All those beautiful girls. This is so very sad.
Where did this husky come from?

Looks like a drop off living loose. Had been skunked already. Think it's the same one that apparently took 9 hens last week from a neighbours barn down the road. Our neighbours were helping us look for hens and they mentioned it. The lady had thought it was a weasel.

I'm so sorry. For all of it. Your losses are just so very awful - all of them - Nearly, Mouse, PJ, Missie, Big Bird - I feel like I know all of them through your posts. Nearly managed to survive a major attack before, but just didn't have good fortune on her side this time around ... and the husky being dumped - that's just horrid too.

Oh crap! That's just awful. I know how attached you were to those birds, Gill. Was there a demise of the Husky? I hope so.

Husky RIP. I don't believe it but Mouse just turned up. We thought it was her dead but difficult to tell there was such a mess. She's inside with wounds either side of her neck and a scrape on her side. We'll see if she makes it through the night BluKoted up.
