I hear they use frozen crocodiles in Aus to fuel the “wood” stoves .

I still have 5 in the house and one hen is becoming quite bossy about her food and water. Clucking away and banging on the front of the cage demanding to be fed when she sees me.
My Momma and babies.....every she sees me she moves the chicks to the other side of the cage; cause I try and grab them....lol

My Oliver, is under the heat lamp as I type this...

It was -30 with a wind chill of -43 this morning at 7:00. For the last two days we had wind gusts from 70 - 90 kph, and some snow. The sun is out now. My chickens are all doing ok so far without any heat. The building warms a little when the sun is out. The cat is not impressed though and spends most of his time in his house. The high is supposed to be -2 in a few days, and then cold again.

Near the end of this extreme cold weather we had the coldest night yet last night with it being -34 feeling like -49. I guess we just have to get through one more night of this. At this time now it is -27 feeling like -36. It is suppose to go to -29 tonight feeling like -37. Everyone will be happy when this cold spell is over including my husband and the chickens and ducks. It will ease up the amount of wood we have been going through and we will be able to let the chickens and ducks out.

We're having more extreme cold all this week. Today we got to -23, but the windchill was -30. The forecasted lows for the next three nights are -35, -35, and -33, before the windchill. Yuck!
