I'm sorry it wasn't a good stay.....were you at the north hospital or south? I know when i had my back done my nurses (all but one) were fantastic and the resident was great....but the admin-well, they kicked me out earlier than my surgeon wanted because it was christmas and they wanted the bed empty over the holiday. not to mention nearly passing out in xray and everyone was just "oh don't do that....when i seriously was going to...." like what part of me warning you that i'm going down don't you get??! then it was a royal mess with CCAC....as in we thought you would drive to st tomas for care!!! ha ha ha! i asked if they even read my file, and they said it hadn't been forwarded, so i told them 10 spinal levels fused and i'm not allowed in the car so just how am i to drive an hour to st thomas? LOL. take care of yourself-and advocate for yourself if you think something is wrong don't take no for an answer!!!! and martin and i are not too far away if you need anything!

I must say that although Brockville Hosp is a horror Kingston was amazing! The Chemo nurses really connected with their patients and you felt they cared. After my year of treatments was up they said to come back in and let them know how I was doing with a comment of "we really mean that!" The radiation team kept me laughing when I spent a week having a new to Ontario treatment with them and even let DH watch and chatted about the equipment. He used to be in radiation safety and he and Dr. Chandra? really connected. I agree with Kathy on advocating for yourself and I was glad I had DH with me to back me up with the first rads guy who yelled that I WOULD have xxx treatment which I felt was inappropriate - I felt I may have been bullied if he hadn't been there. It's odd how someone who is assertive (to put it mildly) like myself feels when confronted with some situations.
Anyway that's behind you now, onward and upward - you'll be all ready for hunting season!

Thanks guys I can’t believe how bad the eguipment, beds & wheel chairs , commodes & communication system is at LHS . Plus the attitude of the staff (not all) on patient care .👎
I totally believe it, after my last very unpleasant sample of our health care system, my GP said, and I quote
"it's time to stop lying to Canadians, our health care system compares favorably only to third world countries"
There are few good people, but they are getting fewer by the minute and the system and the equipment they have to work with boggles the mind.
The very few good small Hospitals are having their funding cut, because you know it's so much easier to "process" patienst thru behemoth Hospitals, after all there is economy in numbers. :(s

Yep already talked to surgeons office & she says that’s unexceptable & when I come in to have staples taken out to talk/ list about it & he will talk to who’s in charge on that floor .
No idea where I was in Hosp Kathy 9 th floor . Yu spend your time on your back looking at ceiling & all I know is the 3rd tile from the right light that blinks off & on needs replacing it’s falling out . Lol

ha ha ross, okay you were up here....near where i work. 9th is orthopedics-pretty much all of it.
glad you are home. it's so much easier to recouperate and relax and do what needs to be done at home. and you'll sleep better too! i found the hospital was the WORST place to try to get any sleep....especially with a roommate. a deaf roommate. who screamed and yelled all night for her daughter....um.

just ordered what few seeds i needed yesterday. i'm itching to plant something. i need some dirt/jiffy pellets first, and just ordered that today. lol. so guess i'll have to wait a bit. our tractor starter should be in today though....hopefully!

OK so not the morning and not so good ? another load of snow, hard to decide if it's worse to take the dog for a walk in the back, snow starting to get a bit deep even with occasional run thru with a snow blower, or on the road, where the piles are getting higher and the road is getting narrower.
@baronrenfrew planning a winter vacation?
I have decided to go and visit BobG in BC in March, ;) but will just be exchanging snow for rain I think.
But as they say, change is as good as rest...or something like that.
New French bakery in Kanata selling their "butter puff pastry" so had to try and experiment with it, doesn't do a thing for my midsection :)
but pleasant occupation on snowy Sat morning.
Have a safe one !
Yep! Carla has a Greece tour set up (if we get 20 folks in we get two seats free) for 2020 so we've been thinking of warm and sunny places. Plus I just watched the Dakar race coverage (desert rally raid in Peru - formerly the Paris-Dakar race) while feeding the woodstove and dealing with minor tractor problems (had to remove the filters twice over two weeks).

At least the skidoo has been running good.

Ross, glad you're ticking like a Timex!
