Happy SOlstice

Post by Killerbunny » Fri Dec 21, 2018 6:28 am

SO tonight is the Celebration for the Return of the Light. Such a hopeful time. Sister has got over her silly idea of celebrating naked and her new feathers are coming back in nicely!
Best wishes to all.

Happy Solstice!
Can't think of a better reason to celebrate, then return of light.
KB, any special dances planned for tonight? I know, not the same without Stonehenge, but I am sure you could come up with something ;)

Not telling! For those who don't know we used to live in Old Sarum which is very close to Stonehenge. It's amazing that they built it so conveniently close to the highway for travelling to celebrations.
The Summer Solstice used to be celebrated in our area with 3 days of parties at Stourhead garden. People would dress up in costume. One year there was a whole group dressed as the night before the battle of Waterloo and another Swan Lake was staged on a platform on the lake!

Solstice might or not have come here. I will see if today is longer than yesterday. We are sick as dogs here, coughing green stuff. Cath's eardrum broke and has been draining for a week or so. Doctor says its not leprosy of the ear drum as I diagnosed, but what do they know. And if today isn't more daylight than yesterday, we have decided we will do a human sacrifice. The mother in law will be burned at the steak. Got to get a bunch of faggots just in case.

Bah humbug. Whine Snivel Complain. I am going out to see the chickens and goats. Get my therapy.

Pretty amazing moon last night, no wonder all sorts of magical tales were attached to this time of year.

Well, that moon must called out to all the beasts in our neighborhood. The first time since I started keeping chickens I had a fox walk right up to both coop doors about 7pm last night. The troops were locked away in their outdoor coops but not locked in their hen houses. I got out there pretty quickly and locked everyone away for the night. The day before I noticed tracks that chased a bunny. But first time for a fox. I was lucky last night.
