Good morning, I think, Rooney's gone is too bad I went to the one in Kemptville occasionally, it was a good store and the manager was on the ball, can't say that about many feed stores.
Bright and sunny here, although a bit crisp ;) heading out for a hike in the back four, there are still two pairs of ducks on the creek, should be leaving soon I think, have been finding a large scat at the back, a bit too big for a raccoon, not sure what is hanging around.
Turned clock back before going to bed and did my annual Yepee, and extra hour of sleep and stayed up and extra 2 hours, which means I got an hour less sleep then usual, not sure why, but seems to be like that every fall :)
Have a sunny one :-)

I'm not sure that the Rooneys in Kemptville is also under new ownership but I guess we'll find out soon enough. I used to shop there a lot, but after an unpleasant experience with one of the people in the feed warehouse, I now buy elsewhere.

Speaking of chicken feed, I bought some organic Masterfeed? from TSC. Yuck, yuck, yuck! It was nothing but powder and smelled rancid. I don't think the chickens were impressed at all. I gave it to a neighbor and bought another bag from a different store.

Spent this am reinforcing to hoop house with some extra hoops and putting up fresh plastic cover on it before winter hits. Glad we got a nice day to do this.
BTW just opened the bag of layer mash from Kemptville Willows and it looks very nice indeed, lots of whole grains, 18%protein and I checked that it does have Selenium added. We'll see what the birds think.

@Killerbunny , is the Rooney's staff still there? Also, how does the price of Willows mash compare to the mash Rooney's carried?

It is $22.50 for 40kg so about the same, cash or debit is a 3% off. The warehouse chap from Iroquois is there don't know the others. All very helpful but different if you know what I mean?

Linda...i buy very little from TSC...especially feed...the staff are poorly informed and I am never sure of the age of the feed stuffs...if theres a sale on some hardware or tool item it usually is the price it should be regularly...you aren't too far from me and I buy most of my feed and supplies from Baker's in Forfar...great service, people who know of what they speak and really good prices..wonderful family business..love the store too...a real country feed store..just sayin'.. :run:

Many thanks Tom. Baker's gets good reviews! A bit of a hike for me, but isn't everything these days?
