Now Ross don't make fun of them, they know everything there is about wildlife, all their knowledge came from a book they read while sitting in their downtown office!

Actually, they get their data by sending university students out for a few days or nights to specific locations (usually a preserve, like Algonquin Park) to get drunk walk around, or sit and watch (depending on the particular field study they are taking), and count what they see.

Well I thought by moving this guy to the lake bank I might have seen the last of him. Not so. Ranger has been protecting the chickens I see. And I am getting more eggs. Not 100% sure they are connected. And I am sue there are more of his kind around.

Yeah, that's snake skin. But not the shed kind. It was full of snake before the dog got at it. These are the remains. At least the end part of the snake.

Re: A pretador in the henhouse
Went out to get eggs today, and one hen keeps laying behind an old board. Looked there, and a snake, just starting to open his mouth onto an egg. Grandkids here, we took him down to the lake and released him. So, Ranger hasn't got them all.
