Re: Good Morning!
not worth an insurance claim for about 5000$ damage.....1000$ for the shed itself (the other shed was worthless), and maybe 1000$ for the generator, $1500 for the greenhouse $600 for the garbage bin and 50$ for the rototiller, and the rest in small tools like axes and shovels, posts, plant pots, seeder, greenhouse equipment etc. not worth the rate increase in the insurance for that kind of claim. TSC has a good generator on sale (at least they did), so we actually got a better generator ordered for less money than our old one! sometimes it's good to be forced to update equipment i guess. LOL
such a nice day out there, can't wait to get outside and do something!!!!
although cleaning up is an awful lot of work. i can see why there are companies that take care of that kind of thing. i really never want to smell anything that smells like burnt marshmallows ever again! including burnt marshmallows! with the north wind last night that's all i could smell in the house....lol.

Re: Good Morning!
Good morning,
Starting to get a bit excited now, finalized arrangements with Jim for the chick pick up, Jim's schedule can only be described as slightly insane, until I tried to synchronize it with DH schedule, which frankly for a guy who is retired is just as crazy and as per usual all happens on "the one day".
So after we established that if Train A leaves hatchery at 1pm and Train B leaves Carp at 2;30 pm and if the stars align, will the trains meat in Jim's driveway??
And will there be chicks to pick up?
And if there are would there be 2 batches?
And if so, what color they be????
So many questions and so few answers, better go and vote now.
have a sunny one!

Good morning!
OC - when it rains, it pours. Hope all goes smoothly.
WWL - Glad no one was hurt, and damage was relatively minimal, if there is such a thing.

Re: Good Morning!
good morning all! glad that election thing is over. we're stuck now, no going back....so may as well get on with other things now.
this weekend the garden is going in. doesn't matter what else is trying to go on, i'm planting the darned garden or we'll never get any vegetables!
argh!
i also need to get a greenhouse idea put together.....and fence posts (so the dog stops eating the asparagus). my strawberries are toast, literally. so that patch is going to get removed. they weren't the best plants in any event, the berries were getting smaller and smaller every year. sigh.
i can't find any blueberries shrubs anywhere local, so that's out. the grapes seem to be okay for now...at least there are grapes setting already! some scorched leaves, so i'll try to trim them up this weekend if DH doesn't beat me to it.
today is last day for the window/doors reno! it looks absolutely amazing. the siding guys started this week and have the one part of the house with the strapping and insulation board going up, they'll finish that today, and then start the other part of the house (the newer addition) next week. so we'll have a bit of brick to move and stuff this weekend from the stairs. and final cleanup from the fire, and we'll likely run the cultivator through it and then put down grass seed until we figure out what we're doing. we've had a suggestion for a beer patio, a nice detached garage, a shop, a garage/shop (likely) or extending the garden another 50 feet (yikes! i can't weed what i've got there already!). so today the rip up of the darned weeds that sprouted the instant the rain started falling last sunday happens, and tomorrow the seed and plants go in. and likely sunday too.
and you guys do know that if there aren't any photos of the chicks it technically didn't happen. right? LOL
