my flocks...
Re: my flocks...
Oh so sorry for your loss, sometimes you never really know what killed them but I too suspect dog. Fox or coyote would have run off with them.

Re: my flocks...
Thank you so much for your condolences. What do you do with the bodies? Stupid question, but I don't know. I would worry if I buried them that some animal would dig them up. Something else for my stinky dogs to roll in. I read somewhere you shouldn't put them in the garbage. Burn them? Let the dogs have roast chicken? My poor sweet girls.

Re: my flocks...
I burned them when I had my disaster and wished them on their way with a toast. Be warned it needs to be quite hot to dispose properly.

Re: my flocks...
Pour white lime over bodies when burying . Keeps critters out burns the carcass plus takes care off any odour . Luck

Re: my flocks...
we just have a bonfire here.....even when we are processing and have all the feathers to go we light the fire and burn...
i'm sorry.....i have held a favorite chicken in my arms after my dog hurt it beyond repair as well. it was not fun....that dog managed to wipe out quite a few of my birds - he even chewed his way through chicken wire fencing.....it just gets ya right in the gut...no fun
