Im sooo sorry!!!
Are you sure you havent locked it inside the coopwith all the reinforcements? It may actually be living in the shavings or under a nest box or something. I hope you get it....

Found the spot it got in last night...still through the chicken door. The plywood was slightly uneven..I mean you can not get your fingers underneath the little spot but clearly the tracks outside and a section of shavings are pushed away right there. Remaining hen is unhappily living in the basement in the dog crate and fresh liver is ready to bait the traps. Don't want to set them up too early for the best chance they wont freeze solid. Fingers crossed, though it is too little too late.

Traps empty, nothing on the camera. Basement smelling like chicken
already, this isn't going to last long.

Use poison bait? Don't know if that puts anything else at risk, but it sounds like the coop will keep cats and dogs out and away from bait.

I second this. There's no chance of anything else getting to it. Put a nice big block of it in the middle of the floor - dinner is served :lunch:Epona wrote:Use poison bait? Don't know if that puts anything else at risk, but it sounds like the coop will keep cats and dogs out and away from bait.

Re: And then there was one....
The fellow at feed store told me that the blocks for mice have more kick per size, and not to bother with the ones for the rats. I'd try busting open some of the mice ones in a feed dish w raw liver that is good and bloody and burger. Mix well. If you have a farm license for pesticides, get the powder.......actual I guess if you had the license this would be a none issue. Maybe you know a local farmer with one.
