Oh and I blunted Franks "Jumpy stabbers" as he is quite enthusiastic with the ladies. Such a wuss, screamed like a pullet!
Yes, Thank you for the morning chuckle. :)

I am back!!!!!After spending two days in Newark (not recommended as a holiday destination) waiting out bloody Riley,
arrived home to two Cardinals having the annual argument about the nest location, which is just lovely.
DH has done very well keeping the barn going, accept for missing the first fight of the 2 growing out cockerels, they are no longer so pretty and no longer living together, and there are two broody hens, so I guess it's official, spring is here.

So Jim, since you are our main poultry traveller here, what are my chances of getting my Hatching eggs added to one of your Millpond Hatchery runs?
Assuming that I will actually get the breeding pens together, wouldn't be until sometime in May.

OC I am sure we can figure out that. I am taking my first batch down to incubate April 12 to May 3, then next batch probably May 17 to June 7th. I am away May 24 to June 2nd so no hatching around that time.

Perhaps we should steal a certain members greeting and change it to G'day!

Well, here we go...another weekend to boil sap...its been a good run and its not yet over...MJ is lamenting on being a maple syrup widow yet again...i love it, not the leaving her for the whole weekend to her own devices but the boiling...being down in the bush, findings things to do between new sap loads and drawing off...the silence, the raw basic beauty...just takes my breath away and I feel really blessed to be able to be one of the few that can experience this...anyway, my setup is pretty basic, only a slight improvement over a hollowed out log and hot rocks but it works...have ambitions to build a sugar shack and a better boiler but that will come in time...right now its pretty neat just the way things are...hope you folks enjoy your weekend as much as I will.... :running-chicken:

Good to hear you are having great fun Tom. I decided not to tap this year, too many other things going on. I definitely miss it. :(
