Heat wave!!!

Post by Skinny rooster » Sat Dec 30, 2017 11:39 am

:fan:
We're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave, la la la, anyone remember that song lol.

Yesterday I went outside after lunch and I couldn't believe how balmy it felt out, I checked the temperature and it was only -16!!! Tropical compared to the last week! I realized I can get out! I drove to Ottawa as I had some things to return and I needed some groceries. What a perfect perfect shopping day! The stores were empty, hello echo! Echo! Echo! Echo! I was in and out in seconds with my returns. I picked up a few things I needed, dirt cheap (love that word cheap regarding price), grabbed some Thai food and headed out for groceries. There was next to nobody in the grocery store, cashiers were waving customers to them, painless! They had Turtles the chocolates in the regular sized box on sale for $2.99!!! I was already given some so I didn't get any but deep down inside the little boy in me was crying "I want turtles" and deep down inside me my Scottish blood was crying "come on laddy, I want turtles at $2.99 a box"! I resisted.

Came back home, had a good day in town end of story. :yippie:

We braved Costco yesterday. Before Christmas there was no way to even get into the parking lot.
Yesterday was not too bad. We got what we needed and were out in about half an hour.
Now, the way out of the parking lot was a completely different story though. I guess everyone read our mind and was trying to come in. Took us another 15 minutes to get out. :idunno:

It's only -11.5 out, oh sure there is a wind chill but at least my nostrils aren't freezing together and it doesn't feel like I'm inhaling glass!

:wee: What should I do? What should I do? It's a real heat wave now, go for a swim, go Sun tanning? Maybe actually go outside for more than ten seconds!
