Re: Stocking suggestions for a guy
One of my friends at work would always make me list out loud what I got my Dad for Christmas. He used to freak out and have fits of laughter. The thing was my Dad was a typical farmer, he didn't want a shirt that says "I love you Dad" he wanted useful things like tools, winter work gloves etc. One of the things that made my Dad most appreciative, was when I got him big boxes of nails, yes I said nails, that used to make my friend really laugh. My Dad on the other hand always said, at least now I have enough nails that I won't have to straighten and reuse old rusted ones for a while, because in case you don't know, that is what many old timers did. Dad was the biggest kid of all at Christmas, he was my eating partner for traditional sweets, I really miss him at Christmas.

Be very careful with the icegrippers. Don't remember which site but someone ripped up their ACL when she slipped and they gripped!

Love your fathers practicality SR . I always believe we are a product of our environment & he obviously came up at a time when recycling wasn't just a warm fuzzy feeling but a necessity. I remember as a kid myself straightening nails when dad was bldg our garage . Thanks for bringing back the memories .

A lump of coal? What did your husband do to deserve a lump of coal? That's either a joke or an insult!
I want to give Carla a set of keys (to the "new to me" snowmobile hidden in the back shed). I keep dropping hints "a snowmobile'd be great" and she lists off a bunch of practical things we should get first. I bought it in the spring and I've been itching to take it out.
Of course two tractors are busted and my vw is in the shop. The Kubota started spewing hydraulic fluid (sent it to the shop) then and the "big red" didn't start as the block heater didn't work (it failed dec 19 last year so under warranty but no fun to change in -25).
Got that fixed, fired it up and it has no hydraulic pressure as it'll barely lift the loader. No point putting the snowblower on it until its fixed. And it sounds really bad: tranny sounds like a box of rocks. How come every time my brother borrows it it comes back busted?
What would I want in a stocking? A bottle of Buffalo Trace bourbon. And tickets to Mexico.

Don't do it, Baron. Do not give Carla keys to something you want, and she has to be convinced is a fun thing to do. Bad idea. Very bad idea.
Buy some last minute deal tickets for two to Mexico instead.

Baron, buy Bourbon, a new set of keys, and a ticket to Mexico. Give the bourbon to Carla, THEN give her the keys, and if the bourbon didn't work, you can hightail it to Tijuana.
OR, install a 2-up seat and pack the bourbon as part of a Romantic Winter Wonderland campfire picnic. Only accessible by snowmobile. And send her to Mexico to thaw afterwards.

Re: Stocking suggestions for a guy
You could get a sheer body stocking, and you could be the stocking stuffer. Fairly inexpensive and highly appreciated. That's my suggestion anyway.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Sheer body stocking, good for a barrel of laughs, your wife will be rolling on the floor laughing.
Oh these are such insightful suggestions, now I will just have to choose which to use, I think the bourbon is the best, maybe socks and underwear to go with it. If I see the TSC store put their purple extension cords on sale I might get him one of those. They did look pretty!

Baron, the lump of coal was a joke. I don't have a husband to give coal to. :)
