My 2018 plan still the same, breed an amazing Columbian cockerel for myself and an even more amazing Blue Calumbian cockerel for KB, or die trying.

Nothing like having a solid plan, I say.....

I really think my problem is comparing everything to Lucky! He was so nice a typey. Chunky is looking nice too but not as good as Lucky.

Best of luck OC. I much prefer your plan A over your plan B.
One day I will simplify things here and focus on 1 or 2 things and do an amazing job at it. Maybe 2018 will be the year I change my plans and simplify things. NOT!!! Haha... I think I am picking up a nice high quality group of White Chanteclers from Quebec on Sunday when I get my turkeys. Just a small group 2 roosters and 4 or 5 hens. Man 2018 plans already changing and 2017 not even over yet. I might need to put a cot or hang up a hammock in coop to sleep in.

Just putting in my chick order...trying not to go overboard! Going to get little groups of 5 to just keep things interesting in the flock (slikies, Columbians, Cochins and EE's). I am also going to set up my Black Copper Maran pen and Gold Laced Wyandotte pen to keep those going before the Roos up and die on me.

These are the plans for 2018:
- will give hatching a go (not sure how well our youngish rooster gets around to all the hens, though)
- will get meat chickens and turkeys again (we process our own)
- will want to go to one or two buy/sell/trade events (like Lombardy in May) to check out different breeds (have my eye on a certain breed but can't afford paying an arm & a leg - may have to settle for another breed)
- have a yard sale of stuff left in house from previous owner, plus some of our stuff
- start our farm gate sales - mostly garden veggies
