Re: Watch out for deer on roads .
just saw a beautiful buck, 10 point, while driving to work. he ran up the side of a cornfield so saw him a long way away, in the snow.....he wasn't stopping for nuthin, had his nose up and sniffing.....so slowed down, he gets onto the road, which has got ruts and snow and then runs right at the truck! LOL. nose still in the air, not paying ANY attention to anything around, so i stop (okay, it's snowcovered, i stopped as fast as i dared given the nitwit behind me) and he finally clued in about 3 feet away that "oh, there's a big black thing there" and crossed the road. just gorgeous!!!! good healthy big looking 4 or 5 year old. and he never slowed down, never missed a step....and off into the field (right beside the 402....gah....looked like he was going to cross that too)....hope he made it safely! i think if you are sw ontario in this area, doe urine and some rattling might work wonders right now.

Re: Watch out for deer on roads .
Someone hit a doe in front of our house yesterday afternoon while I was at work. the driver was fine although her car was totaled, she hit it at 100kph or so. A passerby chased the deer off somewhere into the still standing beans and it was never recovered. I have today off and spent the last few hours grid searching the front half of the field. I'm about to put on Hunter orange and do the back half. The deer is dead guaranteed, I found shattered bone, looks like femur not sure... anyways I'm guna find it!

al, look for crows or blue jays hanging out. might make your search a little shorter.
yeah, an injury like that likely dead it won't have gone far before laying down hopefully. glad the driver is okay....
