Bert I am so sorry for you loss of Baron. It's never easy when we loose one of our fur buddies at least he went on his own and sounds like it was time. Making the decision to have them put down is so hard even when you know it's the best.

I guess it's not easy taking the head off a turkey, lol. Butchering a small rooster is still a bit of work, butchering a turkey must be an event! I bet farm raised turkey must taste so good!

Free range BSW is AWESOME! They are a nice size for families too anywhere from 9lbs dressed for a hen to 18lbs for a well grown Jake. They forage well and are very sweet birds. I grow for 6+months and they are still tender at a year. Breed naturally and raise their young. A touch gifted but very friendly if apples are involved. Did I mention I'm a HUGE fan of these birds!

KB also forgot to mention that beside being a breeder of champion turkeys, she is a prize winning markswoman, so using a weapon to dispatch a bird is probably much easier for her then it would be for most people.
