Re: Good Morning!

We had a lazy day yesterday, too. Cleaned up a bit, put everything back to it's normal spot and enjoyed the sunshine. And the few drips we got at 5pm even more. :yay: Rain came a day late
Now we are starting to prep the place for our long road trip in the second halve of August. Need to fix a chicken door or two, some netting on the turkey pens and so on.

Thanks everyone for coming to the picnic. Great to get to know the persons behind the little avatars on the side.

Congrats @ross! 24 years and going strong!!

Congratulations @ross and wife! That's a great accomplishment these days and all of the pics I've seen of you two seem to show that you are certainly happy and meant for one another!
Glad to hear everyone had a great time at the piknik and made it home safely. Hopefully next summer I will have less going on during weekends!

Congratulations Ross and Donna!!
The Piknik was loads of fun! I *almost* decided not to make the long drive Saturday morning-- chicks due to hatch and I could hear them starting to peep, and Aggie the goat ready to kid again any second...but I managed to convince myself that everybody would get along ok without me for a couple of days, had my son to look in on all the critters, and he's really good about it. We left WLLady and Poultry_admin's lovely place about 6:30 a.m., and got home about 1:30 Sunday aft., light traffic most of the way, and probably could have cut another hour off our time if we hadn't stopped so much to stretch.
Got home and checked critters, two chicks still working on hatching, the rest out and healthy, only two dead in she'll. Good hatch. And, Aggie has new twins, one of each I believe. I SWEAR she knows when I'm unavailable and deliberately chooses that time. This is the fifth time someone gave birth to kids, and I've missed it EVERY time.
After critter check was naptime, and then off to the drive-in to see a triple feature. Didn't get back until after 3 a.m. today, did NOT try out the backseat of the rental car LOL, but was fun in any case!
The food and the company, and the entire Piknik experience was awesome AGAIN, and I'm already looking forward to next year!
Thrilled to finally meet in person people I've felt like I've known already for years, especially Ross, and I absolutely HAVE to have HappyHomesteaders' recipe for raspberry crumble.
I did NOT buy any birds, and made myself stop looking at turkeys before I changed my mind. There was this one peach coloured Jenny....*sigh* :smilewithrooster:
Jaye made me her ingenious "wooly hen", and all the chicks figured it out fast. Newly hatched (except for the two still finding their land legs) were put in with the older set and lone duckling, and everybody is using it and getting along exceptionally well. Thanks so much Jaye and hubby!
And yes, Martin's beer was VERY good. Excellent.
Everything was excellent, except the comfort of the rental car, but it was more than worth it!!
I have some pictures, they're on Richard's phone, and he's at work: hopefully I can get them loaded before I leave for my own job, if not, it will be early tomorrow.

Good evening.

Kind of a busy day today I think I have more raccoons terrorizing the birds, one young pullet dead through the mesh of 1 of my hoop houses and my young turkeys in another hoop house must have got spooked or something and some how 1 strap came off the door and most of them were out this morning, missing 2 of my 16 young beltsville, caught the rest. Fixed hoop house hopefully all will be good as I am leaving for 3 day road trip back to London with my daughters.

Time to finish packing.
