Chickens in Toronto?

Yeeha, that'll be on a local morning tv show then "city" folks will get into it. Then three years in, or worse yet, one summer some new chicken owners will go on vacation and as the "dog sitters" won't take chickens, chickens will end up at the SPCA or the Humane Society.

Or some goofball will kill a chicken in a wide open backyard and the neighbour will go nuts and call the cops or 911 and the newspapers will have fun.
So a good idea will be spoiled by a "do gooder" or some other goofy event.

Good morning,
Just in case I thought I imagined that there it was in yesterday Ottawa Citizen, Eastern Ontario has had four month of higher then average precipitation and two of those were double the average. :rain:
The water level has now reached some sort of comfort zone, where everything is saturated completely, water standing almost everywhere, couple of birches actually gave up, apparently wet feet is OK but standing water for four month not so much.
Mosquitos are pretty much unbearable and although I am completely against any kind of domestic chemical use, if I could get my hands on some illegal DDT, I would be all over that.
Rain barrel in constant overflow, although it has one outlet on the bottom and overflow pipe on top and the downspout only services about 12' of roof overhang.

The Lilly pond has reached heroic proportions.

looks like you may need an ark soon!

i made my yearly "i need hay" phone call today to my local awesome hay jockey guy (he really is great), and he said "oh! i have some under cover that actually got no rain somehow!" LOL. he's absolutely awesome. i think because i have clydes...LOL. i have no idea how he managed to get hay off without getting rained on! but he's got land all over the place that he buys up for hay and a small army of people harvesting.....the last hay i got was amazing, just grass, no weeds, a baled beautifully. he brings a huge transport truck with 38 bales, enough for the year, and we unload and give him some iced tea (he doesn't drink beer) and he hangs out while we unload. and it's always great quality hay.

more rain on the way.....
oh yay. hot and humid and sticky and gross here.

Any other clues?
Thanks!

Just the usual laptop. It started to be every time today. It was intermittent over the last few days. Not a big deal.
