Wow, baronrenfrew....i sure hope tomorrow is better! but wine, dinner...sounds great. i'm just about to have my wine just braved the roads for dinner at a friend's place. Wasn't quite the going out to dinner in Chatham that had been planned, but quite a bit safer (and closer) on the drive there. Food was awesome, company was great. so all in all a good dinner. YAY my hubby just put my fav movie in the DVD player! whoohoo! time to flake out and relax. birds are all snug in the barn/coop etc. horses are finally dry and having hay. cats are all in, dogs are in front of the fireplace, and i may or may not make it into work tomorrow morning with the snow falling horizontally out the window from lake effect. guess we'll get up early tomorrow and check. have a great (and safe) night everyone!

Good Morning, sunny and crisp here, bit of a skating rink down the driveway but otherwise lived thru the deluge without major problems.
Hope everyone has recovered from B-day celebrations.
Going to de-decorate the outside of house and barn and trek thru the back 10 to see how high is the creek.

Its not morning.... but I'm sitting in here trying to get warm, lol.

The roads were abit crappy when I headed out, but when I drove home from the school, they were much improved. Hubby went out early in the aft. and was home by 10pm. However... he was gone salting/plowing again he wasn't here when I got up. I got home, and fed the cows silage... and he drove in. Went to work on the birds... and where it doesn't normally freeze water, it did. So, to the house to get hot water to thaw bowls/dishes/pails.. and husband says, "don't forget your bee sting'. Well, I did... so I went out, unthawed stuff and watered in a hurry, and went to town. Then after my 'sting', to the bank, then to get carrots... want to make hamburger soup.... then home. Then leftover popcorn for lunch... and soon bus again.

Crazy whacko weather... to get so cold and windy, in less than an hour of summer like temps!! I have a poor girl moulting BAD... and thought I should separate her and put her in a box with a heat lamp. When I couldn't find her in the pen this morning, and saw her huddled in an aluminum nesting box... I grabbed her, and got the box set up. My brooder box... already has a heat lamp situated in it.. and put it on low, and set her under it. For all her gawd-awful squawking, as if I was knifing her every step of the way, she didn't move a muscle to get out from under the heat, lol. I will have to sneak her back in someday at dark, so they won't kill her. Theres 35 birds in that pen.

Shes all porcupine looking.. all quills sticking out everywhere, with tiny new feathers breaking from the ends. I have NEVER seen/had a bird moult like that in my entire life. Quite shocking to see actually.

Wow lots a blow here ..... Machine worked great , hauled water to barn & blew all the snow only 4-6" here more to come they say . Luck .

Right on Ross! My crazy little machine worked great as well! however I did find out I desperately need a cab like you have! Im guna have to red neck something together!

Yep my friend , wouldn't want to be with out cab . Google up homemade cabs , lots a different ideas . Luck

Thanks Kenya .Perch to floor & back is about all . Do best in small quarters .Easy to catch tho when they pull feathers up around head . Lol
