Hmmmm, BVF for Premier: she gets it done, or she makes sure others get it done, she doesn't accept incompetence, she's passionate (she overheats sometimes). She can't be moved from what is right or wrong. She can't be bought off and she's not for sale (integrity).
Diplomatic? Hmmmm
Inspirational? A leader? Patient? I don't know her well enough.
But I say she's a worthy candidate.

Ok so I just get tired reading BVFs posts! Makes me feel so lazy. Perhaps we can have a new category poultry admin, WOnder Woman instead of chatty hen for her!

Well I had a funny thing happen today. I had 2 Australorp brothers. One I killed myself after it viciously attacked a hen (Princess if anyone from PSO remembers) His brother, Charlie, turned nasty on my broodies week old chicks and tried to trample them. I called a neighbour who likes them for the pot and they were just young guys and he took Charlie away. Well I was chatting to him today and he had a friend with him who was looking for blue/green egg layers and I don't have any spare. Turns out that this chap was at Jacks when he rolled in with Charlie. Took a shine to him and took him home. This was 4 years ago ish. Charlie is a very large boy now and doing great guard duty around his layers! They don't raise chicks so it worked outI guess you just need to find the right place!

Aww what a happy ending! Good for Charlie:)
My two roos are polar opposites with chicks. Harley the big guy is scared of them lol. Sherman the little guy is trying to get them on "his side" early and has been dancing and prancing and finding treats for the 6 week olds! He's a perfect gentleman and nothing has moved beyond flirting so I dont worry about him. They also already outweigh him!

Yes, I will also admit that I read only 20% of what she posts. Maybe its my way of not feeling guilty that I only do a quarter or less of what she does. And that I am too lazy to READ about what she does, let alone follow in her footsteps for a day and do what she does.

BVF, I tip my hat to you and your work ethic...just don't expect me to read it all.

Ha ha you guys. I tend to post more when I'm mad. I told Ross and Colleen, both with Gary standing by, that the ONLY reason I'm alive is because of him. Because if I was with someone else... I'd be dead by now.

I don't really have any work ethic... someones got to do the work. Theres simply NO one else around here. He has his jobs... and I have MY jobs and HIS jobs. His jobs don't include housework, bookwork, shopping, banking.... making stuff for a get to gether..... blah blah blah. But I have barn work. When I'm needed I do field work. Trying to deal with newborn calves, who flop around like rubber bands.. because someone can't hold them anymore... I've been telling him I'd like to sell these damn cows, lol.

If anyone of you ever happened to see me in action around here... you would likely shoot me too, lol.

Even Ross shook his hand.....giving him kudo's for putting up with me! LOL.

Evening all.
Sitting outside listening to the fireworks go, then count 2 seconds while the dog holds his breath, and then he is all bark bark!!! Then holds his breath again for the next ones....it was funny for a few minutes. Bvf-you want a dog to help with all that work? He has energy to burn.....lol

Just locked down the next turkeys and some guineas. Should hatch sometime in the next few days....if i wrote everything down right. Which i may not have....
i remember setting them so they would hatch in time for the wyoming sale. Which is next sunday. Baron-thats the same weekend as renfrew i think. Lol

That wind was so annoying today!! I wanted to get the garden planted. Did get some stuff done....but the wind was too strong to put my clematis out or the other redbud tree....so i planted corn seed (sweet corn) and potatoes and bean seed and 3 of the summer squash plants....and all the lettuce. And then quit. Tried putting down grass seed but it was too windy and i gave up.

Fireworks........bark bark bark......followed by hubby "hey.....be quiet!!"..........quiet bark......."enough!!!!"

Peeper frogs still singing! And that tom here is still gobbling up a storm all afternoon. My bronze jenny started laying again yesterday. She sat a whole month and nothing hatched...and i just took a pile of infertiles from the incubator from right before she sat. So. Likely not fertilized
bang bang......bark bark...really!!? Be quiet!!!.....grrrr
Switched some birds up in the loft today and shut the light off so they wouldnt fight with new neighbours. Now its almost time to call the weekend over. Ross that is true. Folks i work with know if i just walk away they better fix whatever they did.....fast....
Have a great night everyone. Oh, dont forget to vote for your favorite weekend for pto bbq!!

I'd LOVE to see BVF go head to head in a debate with Tater Tot for Prime Minister (Premier? pffft, think big!). But, it has to be in the wind, so she's good and peed off, and his hair isn't in perfect place. LMAO!

Nice morning here and I'm finally putting the pea netting up. Sea of mud before this. Oh dear I got some up and then Mama brought the babies out so it was coffee time and there's a chair next to the maternity pen and, and......
Ok back to the peas netting now!
