Good Morning!

Post by WLLady » Wed Apr 19, 2017 3:11 pm

why when i look at that bull do i think "you don't have to outrun the bull, just the person you are with"? LOL. rainy day. horribly busy day at work today....glad i'm only on half days. i'm beat! Opened up the barn, and found 2 smashed robin eggs on the floor of the barn from above...wonder where they are nested, i've only seen the swallows in the barn. hm. my turkeys are still laying up a storm! can't believe it! last year i got maybe 30 eggs from all the girls. this year they're making up for last year i think! i'm am seriously thinking about leaving them some eggs so they stop laying!
locked down about 20 more turkey eggs yesterday for thursday/friday hatch. waiting eagerly. moved the munchkins to the grow out coop and they're having a great time with the extra room to move. testing out flying and general craziness that 2 week old chicks do. all 7 turkey poults are lap turkeys already. they will jump up in our hands....snuggle down and go to sleep. i have a feeling i'm going to have a bunch of friendly birds later this year!

nice to see the green on the trees, my cherry tree has a couple of blooms open today! and my tulips just opened! daffodils are going strong. daylilies are up about 4 inches and the irises too. keep looking for asparagus....waiting for my favorite spring vegetable! chives are almost a foot tall already, and the sage is leafing out. oregano needs to be sprayed with round up LOL it's coming up everywhere, and i found a volunteer raspberry cane in one of my window wells, a good 100 meters from the raspberries....hm. i'll need to transplant that back to the raspberry row soon. need to put up some temporary horse fencing, so we don't have to run the mower this weekend. i'll just let the mowers out :cowboy:

love this time of year, except for the ticks!
BVF i am actually thinking that guineas are better than the ticks this year.....and you know it takes a LOT for me to think about guineas....

Just finished vaccinating the birds for ILT and giving them their spring Ivomec treatment. Great fun! Why do pullets scream like you're murdering them?

Got some pips in the incubator since yesterday afternoon. This morning, nothing has made real progress.... except for now... one polish chick is zipping its egg. Taking their time! I put some of that foam drawer covering on the bottom of the screen. I think that would be better gripping than the wire. I think its holding in the water better underneath.

I'm so damned tired!! Geez. I wish I'd snap out of this funk. AND I am to go to the bee sting therapy shot place this morning. I wonder how I will do on the breathing thing you have to blow into. You take a big breath in.. and blow and suck in hard again. I can make a real high mountain, lol. Maybe not today. Maybe I shouldn't go. Going anyhow. I hate having to go (its only once a month now), but I prefer to get it over and done with, until the next time.

Well, I've been home nearly an hour. Just sitting at this computer, wishing for my bed... drinking a tea... and not really wanting to go outside today. Its drizzly... windy... cold....and calling for some more severe weather.

You guys down west of us stay safe. Especially you WLLady.. seeing as how your a lightning rod. They say tornado's not unexpected down your way, with severe thunder....

I hope non of that poop comes down here.

Jim, you get a grade of B. It would have been an A, but the trays aren't full :D

Ya I know I needed a few more to fill up the trays. I do have 2 hovabators full with another 80 eggs though. Man I need to build another new brooder or two, the 1 I built is already full.
