just got back from watching my nieces skating in their year end show in ilderton. good time. good show.....man they have kids that are MAYBE 4 out there skating! and skating better than i ever could! LOL.
fun to see. now i'm going to take it easy for the rest of the afternoon. i'm glad it was possible to go, but i'm pretty done physically. such a wuss!
so my big thing for this afternoon is to help hubby move a bale for the horses, and then maybe cut down the old ornamental grass that is all dead so the new stuff can sprout. will just putter....
all the munchkins made it through the night last night and are all eating and drinking and running around like mad LOL. growing like weeds already.
and they're only 1-2 days old! ha ha.
turkeys go into lockdown on tuesday!
hope everyone is having a good nice, sunny, warm, sunday!

Martin! Want to build your soil? Google "terra preta" and "biochar" (motherearthnews.com); in other words, charcoal (from a wood fire)! Charcoal has microscopic pores that acts as a "house" for bacteria, and the bacteria feeds the soil. It's stable for hundreds of years and there's not a lot of research as the fertilizer folks don't want farmers doing it. Do some digging...it'll knock your socks off.

Good morning!
Robins, motorcycle and bicycle riders, Niagara Falls in the sump pump room, all sure signs that spring has sprung.
Will spend this morning staring at hens, have a couple of 5 year olds that will be Easter chicken soup, the flock is aging, some serious decisions must be made :)
Yesterday scrubbed moss and mold with soup and bleach off couple of lounge chairs in the back four, and left it for the prommised rein to wash off, it never rained so will have to drag some clean water all the way there to rinse the soup off, and then I will be ready for summer :)
Have nice and sunny one!

Right on Ross!

The spring peepers have been singing here for a couple of weeks now except during that blizzard. LOL. The Robins have been back for a little over a week. I seen a pair of those yellow finches this morning. And I just found these brave toads in the duck pond. The birds are a laying. WOOOHOO its finally spring!

Well, I just found a nest of duck eggs, grey call, ten eggs, my incubator was just turned on. I need these to hatch in an attempt to replace what I lost. I'll have to do the math and if it works out I'm setting tomorrow!
