My free range banty chickens cruise the bush all round here & in the 23 yrs we've been here have never seen a tick on us or the dogs. Luck all at tick time .

First day back to work for me. A half day and i am totally pooched!!!! Geez!!!
Totally unfair! And an awful lot more energy than i remembered it being. And torture devices of chairs....how on earth did i ever sit in those before surgery?!?
Had an hour meeting this morning and was itching to get up and walk around half way through, thank goodness for heated seats in the truck for the drive home. And thankfully starting back part time. Phew. No stamina.....
and i got my pots and flats out in the greenhouse yesteday and not much else....maybe tomorrow i will get something planted....
now its time for chores.....but maybe a nap first (again)

Hi folks!

just thought i would share my new definition of "physiotherapist". It is someone that can make me feel like i am making wonderful progress while at the same time turning me into a total weenie because i cannot do the simplest little task EVER.
LOL. Physio is going well. it's going to be a while.....lets just say, i did my first side planks on my left side in 3 years! WHOOHOO. i managed to do 2 of them! so the first wasn't a fluke. the second one might have been....although i'm feeling it....so something worked. i can already feel a huge improvement in my balance, and we certainly have identified 8 or so years of bad habits to rectify!

locked down last night, all kinds of chicken eggs! and funny, at 4pm got a panic call from the local feed store. they do chick days from frey's and had an order still sitting there from the morning. turns out a fellow ordered 2 RTL and 3 day old red sex links, and then passed away on sunday (apparently he was really old), his family said no to the chickens, so they were hanging out, unreturnable....so the store owner thought of me! LOL. so i knew someone growing their flock and gave her a call. so now i have 3 day olds in my brooder in the basement (her's was not ready) and the 2 RTL were dropped off to her place last night. they're good looking birds, and when we opened the box to put them into the quarantine coop there were 2 eggs in the box!!!! LOL.
RTL.....already laying!

anyways, happy ending.....although i think a pet feed store chicken would have been fun, but they didn't want two pet chickens.
hope everyone enjoys this wonderful looking morning! at least down here it's sunny and going to be warm!!!!!

My DIL and Grandson are off to visit the local old folks home with ducklings and chicks. It's something she does a few times every year and the residents really seem to enjoy it. Little fuzzy butts make everyone happy.

Yeah I never thought to try them , my guinea's were bad for getting out and not coming back in again, finally lost them to a fox.
