Had some damping off this year - first time ever for me. It turns out that it's probably because a mouse got into my bag of potting mix, as evidenced by a pink fiberglass nest!!!! (Thankfully empty). Silly me thought that any mouse

/pee in the mix would be beneficial to my seedlings. Apparently, it would cause bacteria

Boy you people are keen, my gardening efforts so far, watching tiny little nob of rhubarb peaking from the ground, and desperately trying to remember what I planted where last year and what does the row of wooden pegs in the ground mean, since the writing on them isn't legible anymore.

Well OC, i had great intentions yesterday and went to the greenhouse and got the flats and pots out and all set and gave up. Too much work for my back right now. I still need to get potting soil...and have hubby get it to the greenhouse and fill the pots.....sigh. maybe sometime this week.....or on the weekend.

I guess with the crazy weather we were all waiting for the signs outside to get going!
I too only just got started yesterday starting some tomatoes, peppers, basil and parsley. Today will go out send find the garden again, rake the debris from the garlic, see if the fall planted shallots are viable and try and find out where I transplanted the rhubarb! New place for us so finally get to start the garden from spring not the the Middle of a droughty summer.
Enjoy the spring rituals everyone! Think it's because I'm a spring baby, but I LOVE spring!!!

Get your tomato seeds in soon people! It will be worth it :)

I planted peas on a warm day before all that rain came. Many of them floated to the surface, but at least they hadn't rotted. I gently pushed them back into the soil and covered them with some earth.

Thought my garlic hadn't made an appearance this spring, but spotted a few of them peeping through.

Now to clean out the asparagus bed - oh what a mess!

I pricked out the red geraniums a while ago... and been too lazy to do the whites. They were definitely crying to get out of the flat, lol. So I did that today.

They were all cheering after I watered them in, lol.

Here are the peppers and the red geraniums in their cups. The greenhouse is getting full... but if I cleaned out some junk I would have more room.

I think if it ever gets nice, I will just plant the snaps the way they are, from the flat.... but the petunia's need pricking out if I'm ever going to get any flowers. I hear them muttering every time I go upstairs, lol. They are still inside, under the lights in a spare bedroom.
