Good Morning!

Post by WLLady » Sat Mar 25, 2017 12:22 pm

Whoohoo the feed store run was a success! I cant lift the tailgate but the guys closed it for me no problem, and they didnt have my turkey feed i needed so i ordered some to come next week.....but otherwise its actually easier driving than passengering!!! Yay! Now....just have to get used to everything i need to look at...so will drive in the country for a bit with less traffic before heading into the city. Good to be out under my own power again! Freedom!!!!!!! Hubby and i will go for dinner to celebrate!!!! For now i have some bread to make.....i need to move hay but no way can i get up onto the tractor yet...too bumpy....so that will wait until hubby can di it. They arent starving, and theres more than enough kicked around out there because the bottom of the bale is sweeter....lol

All you folks with snow out east, i hope it melts soon for you! My crocuses are blooming and the daffodils look like they survived and the tulips are up about an inch. So glad i spent the time to plant them last fall, nice to see the colour starting now, knowing i cant get there to plant yet.

Now i really cant wait to get back to work and start physio!!!!!

Yay KB!!!! Last night i got 1 egg from each turkey girl!!! I was stupidly eggcited....

I survived yesterday. All the driving and hay moving and treadmilling and walking and even went to a store!!! For the first time in MONTHS i went clothes shopping!!! And didnt feel like i was going to pass out! And then i spent an hour candling 250+ eggs. Bvf's turkeys had great intentions, but not so many fertilized....my rate is pushing 80%, but one of the pens the rooster died, and all the girls in there were not fertilized, if i discount those the fertility is 97%. And my friend M's eggs are 99%!! So. Doing great! I did get some new turkey eggs in, and a few more chicken eggs, so hopefully any hatches needed after this will be simply to get some extra decent birds to maybe show next year. Hopefully i will have well started poults for wyoming....and be able to come to that sale.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. A bit rainy yesterday, but today is looking less wet....hoping to beboutside for lots of it!!!
