Aren't you glad this isn't freezing rain?

Post by Robbie » Sun Jan 10, 2016 9:36 am

Ugh, it's been pouring rain all morning, what little snow we had is icy slush. I miss winter! I guess we are in for some wicked wind this afternoon so still the potential for power failure- GLAD my incubator is not running. :broodyhen:

Do you think it's true that you can hatch out eggs by strapping them to your body? I can't believe they would be warm enough. You read stuff on the Internet and you wonder......... but it would probably be better than letting the eggs cool off completely in a power failure.

Wish it was snow!!!! Every last bit of it from the last 2 months should be SNOW. White fluffy glorious snow. Lots of it !! Every day. Shovel shovel shovel !! Snow tires, scarf, mittens, snow boots, Bon fires outside while the snow is falling. That's it!! I've convinced myself to move to the Yukon Alaskan border!! They've had snow since Halloween and I bet they didn't have to kill fucking mosquitos yesterday as it reached 10 fucking degrees!!

Pouring here too....and we just watched a gentle south west wind stop, fog in the field like mad, and then a vicious north wind start. it's just howling out there! the horses both ran to the barn, and it's NASTY out. i bet it turns to freezing rain in a couple of hours as the temperature starts to fall. Which is probably my cue to go and move a bale out to the field for the horses now, before it's really cold. wow our temp went from +6 to 3C in 2 minutes!

holy crap is that wind ever nasty! the wet has frozen solid, and the snowdrifts are HEAVY. wow. had to call out the reinforcements (dogs and hubby) to help my move it with shovels....of course the dogs just played in it and spread it around further, but that's okay, at least they're flat drifts now and easier to drive through! Now it's time for chores-nice in the barn, no wind in there!

it is still pouring buckets here and 7 above, the barn yard is completely underwater as is the pasture. The big animals can get inside if the bossy ones let them in.
