Good Morning!

Lizzie is GREAT! shes doing wonderfully actually, she said yesterday that she feels better than she did a year ago!

Yup one tree down, snapped in half due to rot combined with this crazy wind. another the biggest is working its way out of the ground and leaning more and more towards the house. if it falls it should land on the garage, hopefully missing the house and my shop. I hope! the other 4 trees look like if the wind blows them over that they will go towards the road. I hope! in anticipation of "if the tree falls" I moved my truck, my boat, Lizzies car, and some other things. I supported the fence on the run. hmm what else... moved some things I didnt want to blow away. the wind hasnt stopped but I think it has calmed down a bit.

were sleeping in the living room tonight, having a slumber party. I guess theres lots of power outages all over, ours flickered once many hours ago. My nerves need a break... this wind can stop ANYTIME now! there isnt a storm, the sky is clear, is warm outside, and 90 km/h + sustained winds...

Well I am totally wind whipped today. Picked up a friend from Port Rowan, then had lunch in Port Dover, talk about get totally sandblasted as soon as we got out of the car. Took everything for me hold onto the car door to close and open it, car is full of sand, ate some too. One the way back home lots of trees, signs and even fencing blown over.
The waves were very high and it's the first time I have ever seen the water come right up to the restaurant. Plus side lunch was great and so was my company, old chicken friend, and lots of laughs.

How good is pine for burning? guna have LOTS of it. I was wondering if these trees might be valuable as timber? especially the one leaning towards the house so I could get someone else to take it down. been learning on how to take a leaning tree down the opposite way... i have long ropes, wedges, a darn good saw, the field is muddy so i cant take my truck in it, guna need the landlords big 4x4 tractor i believe, and maybe professional help. :-) guna make some calls in the am. man I sure hope its still standing in the am. kids are having a slumber party in the living room in case it comes down on the house... now what are we adults supposed to do? were sleeping in here to but its a lil early for bed, n no tv... my laptops dying, hmmmm LOL

later!

With pine it's the high tar that's concerning in an inside fire (creosote) build up . If yu do make sure real dry . Luck

Well we were planning on shingling our house this spring, but mother nature has decide we will be doing it tomorrow instead. We lost about 6 bundles worth of shingles off the house roof today and the roof off of a rabbit hutch. Poor bunnies where terrified. Hydro was only out for 3 or 4 hours so I hope the eggs in the incubator will be okay. All in all not to terrible. I hope you all stayed safe today.

Thats what I was thinking Ross, not the best for burning in a wood stove, but great for camp! I'll haul it all out there! well a lot of it anyways, its fresh and these trees were healthy so it will be a while before its good and dry. at least I have a splitter!

Darn that sucks Goat Gal! wishing you all the best!!!
