National Cereal Day
Yup, who knew. We have a national cereal day.
These are the top sellers:
1. Honey Nut Cheerios
2. Frosted Flakes
3. Honey Bunches of Oats
4. Cheerios
5. Cinnamon Toast Crunch
6. Special K
7. Frosted Mini Wheats
8. Lucky Charms
9. Froot Loops
10. Raisin Bran
This list shows that crap is a top seller! Wow. I'm surprised, but I guess when you go shopping and the cereal isle is almost a full isle down one side on its own, that alone speaks loud and clear.
I don't eat cereal or buy it. We just aren't cereal people. If I get a hankering for some it's just organic quick oats with some coconut milk and maybe some brown sugar, but maybe 3-4 times a year.
However, back in the day, Captain Crunch was my FAVOURITE!!
One bowl would hack up the roof of my mouth but it didn't matter, I'd have a second and complain for the whole day LOL!

I try to find an organic granola but in the day i enjoyed Cheerios until i found out that Formaldehyde was used in the formula...like wth!!??....anyway, no longer...my question is always, "what is it about Health Canada that would allow outright poisons to be used in food products at any concentration whatsoever?".. How about ZERO ppm!!??..

I guess it wasn't the right colour. :/ People are so asthecily dependent, it is a real toxic problem in our society.Killerbunny wrote:QR_BBPOST And the dieticians push Bran buds which I used to like until they started putting COLOUR in it. I kid you not - WTF - colour in bran cereal!

Don't you find granola very fattening? Have you ever tried to make your own granola clusters? Just as a snack I bet Delish!TomK wrote:QR_BBPOST I try to find an organic granola but in the day i enjoyed Cheerios until i found out that Formaldehyde was used in the formula...like wth!!??....anyway, no longer...my question is always, "what is it about Health Canada that would allow outright poisons to be used in food products at any concentration whatsoever?".. Zero ppm is impossible. Our soil and water contaminants dictate.

Yogurt with some maple syrup, tea and 1 slice of toast with butter here with a glass of orange juice or an orange. Or i skip breakfast. Except sunday. Sunday is pancakes or waffles and skip lunch. Never liked those cereals. And grew up on cream of wheat or oatmeal, and learned to hate it in short order. I can tolerate red river cereal but cant be bothered to cook it.
never really ate breakfast in a big way till after my surgery....was joking with hubby i am going to have to pack breakfast and lunch when i head back to work!!

Nope..with this body, "fattening might be something to be desired...lol...and yes, I know that contaminants are everywhere but does that mean we need to add to it?.. Like they always look at the maximum non lethal limits and use that as a guideline..how about the absolute least of anything that has problematic issues for health...just seems counter intuitive to me and leads me to feel there's other interests at work..and not good ones..thats all...anyway, Cheerios are historyMaximus wrote:QR_BBPOSTDon't you find granola very fattening? Number 5 is probably the most disgusting thing I have ever tried in my life, I can't believe it made top ten.
I had Cheerios in the cupboard for months, they still weren't pass the due date but I threw them out all over the ground one day. Nothing would touch them, no birds, foxes, raccoons, that is saying something.
