Great photo Happy!!!

Turning into a wimp here, need the warm weather back.

Well this year I planned not to buy really anything, that plan is off to a great start!!! lol

I bought 2 ayam cemani and 3 bantam cochin chicks (to keep cemani company) about a week ago. This week 5 svart hona chicks hatched in my classroom, plus a few more svart eggs due to hatch next week, along with 18 BC marans eggs I had shipped from Newfoundland, plus 12 our my own ayam cemani eggs being incubated by someone for me. That was not too bad until today, when I picked up a package that came from Calgary with 30 Cuckoo Malines and 18 Bielefelder eggs in it, they were not really on the plan but I did an egg swap and the breeder was coming to Ontario so they brought them with them.

Oh well, at least I have stuck with the NO new breeds plan, so far.

thegawd wrote:QR_BBPOST I swear I've seen spurs on one of my hens before so I did some googling to see what I can find. apparently its not unusual for a Mediterranean breed to develop spurs on an older hen over 3 years of age. so some Mediterranean breeds like Leghorn, Minorca, Ancona, ect... and the Polish ( a Continental, European breed) can grow spurs. I think the spurs I seen on one of my hens was the Polish I had. somewhere I may have pics but thats going back 3 years so hmmmm. Coonhound ended up with those birds and I ended up with the light brown leghorns.
A couple of my Cream Brabanter hens that have spur's. They are originated in Holland?

Popcorn! My favourite favourite snack. Many times I'll skip dinner to have a massive bowl of popcorn and a movie instead.

Already Pm'd her. I need to score some of that!
