Unsightly age spots

Post by Farrier1987 » Fri Mar 03, 2017 11:40 am

So last month I officially turned a senior, yep 65. I worked pruning in the orchard for part of that day. I was up on the 6 ft rung, and it sent sideways. Whack. Oof. Flat on my back across the ladder. Alone, half a mile from the shop. A whole bunch of crackling like the chiropractor does. I have taken lots of first aid courses, and as I got my breath back, I did a personal inventory. No sharp pains anywhere. feet, legs hands arm, neck moved ok. Laid there looking up at the sky for probably two minutes. Nobody would miss me til about 5 or 6 and come looking for me. Rolled over off the ladder and got on hands and knees and tried to stand. Wow did that hurt, sort of on my hip and tailbone. But I got up and slowly make my way back to the shop and drove home for the day.

The goddess spouse RN wanted me to go to emerge. I told her that was for sissies and sat in the lazy boy for a few hours with the heat on. Got up and undid my belt and about a half a volleyball kind of rose from just behind my right hip. I learned a new word. Hematoma. I decided maybe I was a sissy and we went to emerg. Nothing broken, as I had self assessed, soft tissue injury, will be sore for a while, but no lasting effects, no internal bleeding.

So that was how I celebrated my officially turning a senior. If you get queasy at things like this don't look at the pic. My bum has been redacted, that mark over there is just above the tailbone. And I get to stay home with the chickens and goats for a few days and wait for my first pension check. Celebration complete.

I thought when you get older that you're supposed to get wiser as well? Just kidding, ouch that's awful, take care of yourself, things don't heal up the same past forty. That picture is just so bad on so many levels I have to say, I highly recommend NOT putting it in for photo of the month!

Aw colin....just wait till you heal and your good gal there gives you a giant slap for scaring her!!
Men....geez. my dad too...75 and still wants to cut down the tree all by himself that is hanging over the roof by tying a rope on it and pulling it as far as he can and then cutting a bit and pulling and cutting.
You need a cellphone even just a pay as you go phone colin. Just in case.
Being an invalid myself right now I was shocked to get stuck kneeling on the floor to clean u a dog mess and couldnt stand back up. Cellphones can come in handy!!!

Well, that will be nice and green in a few days....

That is one heck of a big age spot you got going on...ouch! Hoping the rest of your retirement years are more fun and less painful.
